Average North Korean male height = 164cm
Average Indian male height = 167cm
Average Somali female height = 165cm



So our women are same height as Indian and North Korean men.

don't get shocked sxb,when i was in dubai a month ago, the indians there are so short wallahi it's shockin, they are about 5'6 in general.
i think somali's are the 3rd tallest africans ,correct me if i'm wrong.

Why not the tallest ethnic group?

Most Somalis i have met are at or above 5'9, that should atleast make them above average. Netherlands is for example 6'0 on average, its entirely plausible to put Somalis around that range as they are a people known for their tall height

I'm not short. I only made this thread because I noticed how I towered above nearly everyone at a recent Somali function I went to, and I'm right at the threshold between 5'11 and 6ft depending on what type of shoes I wear. And 5'11 isn't particularly tall nor short.

The source you gave listed the average Somali male height as 178 which is 5'8 and 165 for females which is 5'4, and that is consistent with what I have observed of Somalis living here in the United States.

However it does seem to give Somalis a few more centimeters than Americans. I don't think that is accurate because of the conditions back in Somalia. Wars and periods of anarchy and poverty cause nations to shrink.

Sxb you can't generalise everyone for what happened in the south, what about dbjouti,somaliland and puntland who have not been at war for the past 20 years?

The regions you mentioned may not have an active war going on, but they're still very very poor just like the South. Also khat usage is high in those areas which may have an adverse effect on height.

Most somali guyd I see are 6ft or up wallahi. I remember playing for a soccer team which consisted of 16 players and more than 10 of us were above 6 and the shortest was 5'7". And in hs, we were four somali males and I was the shortest being 5'10" at the time.

If you really are short, I pity.

You are less likely to find a mate because women will be disgusted with the possibility of baring small, weak offspring.
You are less likely to hold positions of leadership because people can't take a small person seriously.
You are physically weak and statistically less educated and with less income.
I could go on and on, but suffice to say there is no fate worse than being a short male.

The Politicians of Somaliland compared to the ones of Somalia,are much taller ,like you said, war and anarchy made them shrink.

The Italian Prime Minister blatantly wears elevator shoes like the French President Sarkozy. Photographs of them cannot be trusted. Farmajo is 5'9 which is the normal Somali height, and he is taller than the Italian.
