USA is starting the long planned development of lamu as an oil export terminal/ base . Having skinny`s so close to the venture is causing foreign investors concern. I guess a meeting was held at the state dept/pentagon, and the decision was taken to clear the skinny`s away from the border.
Believe it or not folks, but that is how decisions are usually taken. Big business and big investors (banks etc), sit down with security and political officials and plan a strategy formulated to protect and enhance economic interests. As a reward the big corporations then hire the political and security officials when they leave government.
I predict a lot of big announcements concerning port development and oil/gas concessions offshore Kenya/Somalia border.
