I don't wear it all the time, just occasionally, it's just too comfortable, nothing wrong with that.

Lamgoodle, WTF, kulahaa token of love    I don't think so. Like I said I wear it for me occasionally.
Nabeela, walaahi they do. This is very common in southern part of somalia. Normally, this happens when the man has multiple wives! It kinds of creates competition.

Just wear abucumar underneath and you'd be fine lol
Wearing abucumar defeats the purpose of wearing a macawis. You either go naked and drafty wearing a macawis or you wear normal clothing.

Lamagoodle. Rageedii.
Abuucumar aa? This actually is the worst thing that has happened to somalis. They wear it even during the summer. All over europe you see grandmothers wearing it.

Macawis,
Koofiyo Baraawe,
Go shaal,
Kabo buut ah
Tusbax (afartan xabbo)
Usha Saalimow (only ciyaal xaafada know) or the reer baadiyo hangool

That is the dress code of the urbanite somali

I understand, but you could wear your dad's macawiis. He will be delighted and flattered that his little daughter appreciates a cultural icon

And when you marry, make sure you wear your husbands

If you want know how Somalis dress when they're flying just travel through Dubai & you'll see funny stuff.

Back in the millennium I was going to Iraq and I had to, of course, go through Dubai, then Qatar and then Syria & catch a bus from there to Iraq. I stayed 2 days in Dubai international airport ('cause didn't have a visa to go outside of the airport, just a transit) & when I got to Syria again I didn't have a visa to Syria because I was told I didn't want one since I was gonna go through & going to Iraq. Again I returned to Dubai & caught a boat from there to Basra, Iraq. Those days in Dubai airport I saw a lot of funny, interesting things about Somalis flying.

  You have to be atleast 60 to dress like that.
No man, that's how you roll in Africa. I sit in cafes, tusbax on my hand, Ipad on my table and will troll on Snet.

It doesn't belong to my dad, we have some extra laying around the house  if my dad finds out I use it he'd be amused I'm sure lol

As using my husband's, I think I'm gonna pass, it reeks of awkwardness.

Abuu cumarka waa nigis/kastuumo dheer to fend off the cold. But, apparently somalis wear it all year round.

In the warm countries you wore it instead of jeans/trousers.

Twist, Dubai waa meel yaab leh; Naago soomaaliyeed baan arkeeysaa oo dahab iska soo badiyey; barfuun iyo cadar isku soo buufiyey (A friend of mine was taken to hospital because he was allergic to some perfumes when I introduced him to some somali women) and worst of all naagihi oo dhan wejigoodu wuu cadyahay, laakin gacmahooda iyo lugahooda waa madow.

Nabs, you will be surprised how many times I saw women using their husbands' macawiis as garbasaar back home because "they were walac" & wanted his scent from the macawiis.
