Best post to be seen here, thanks Hanqadh.EEGA9 wrote:I see no mention of Azania in the agreement, the Prime Minister has confirmed the official position of all sides.Kenya trained the TFG troops who were given the set objective of liberating the Jubba regions, those troops were collected by the elders of the region under the auspices of Prof.Gandi who went on to hold consultative meetings(30 altogether) with Politicians,Elders and Civil society groups hailing from the Jubba regions upon which the state of Azania was declared without contradicting the TFG Charter which supports the formation of any state consisting of two or more regions. The position of Sharif is irrelevant on the issue as he has no authoritative control over any of the entities in the Jubba regions(Lower Jubba to be specific), whether its the Azania state TFG troops or the Ras Kamboni brigade. Its a political ploy by both Kenya and Somalia to cover up the initial Political wrangling, this was Sharif's only card to derail Azania via denouncement of Kenya not for patriotic reasons but because of his feud with Azania and specifically with Prof.Gaandi.Now that the pressure has piled up on Sharif, this announcement in Nairobi is designed to calm the issue but clearly Sharif has not had his way.Kenya will not easily discontinue its support of Azania based on Sharif's cynical words, dismantling Azania will only cause further problems for Kenya. Its not a piece of paper which you can scrap in one-day, Kenya has only been a sponsor they haven't physically been involved in the state building process which has garnered the support of many politicians, elders and citizens of Jubbaland. It is only these people who can reverse Azania or scrap it to form a new state, its admin is already in parts of the Jubba region and Azania state troops are fighting alongside the Ras-Kamboni brigade aided by Kenya it would be counter-productive for Kenya to attempt to tear down Azania at this critical moment. In addition to its large Lobby in Kenya, Azania is not going anywhere anytime soon.
The future hope is Political reconciliation between Azania and the remaining political entities in places like Gedo to form a refined Jubbaland-Azania state.
