Today, AL Shabab is weakened and on the run. You would think that the TFG would stand up and fill the void while shaking off the image of it being a foreign puppet regime. It instead is signing deals to have Kenyans and Ethiopians invade. It is allowing a two bit Ugandan clown to set the political agenda for Somalia and to run the TFG like its his provincial government. The AL Shabab also earned no favors among the silent majority. It allowed wanted foreign criminals promote their agenda inside Somalia without asking what is in the Somali interest.

The Silent Majority must remain neutral and organize themselves for the time when Al Shabab.TFG & their backers become so weakened that they will be susceptible to being evicted out of Somalia.
Nonsense! The reality is we all have our own selfish qabiil interest in mind and do to that Somalia has been forgotten. The blame starts with us not the foreign forces playing the referee in our qabill infested Somalia which is awash with guns and illiterates.

D-Runner,

You are always an apologist for every single foreign intervention. The reality is that the silent majority is not in control. Do you think you have the authority to take on Faroole even if you wanted to ? NO. Neither can I take on Qeybdiid.

Somaliweyn, let us unite in combating the foreign agents be they Shababi and TFGers because in the end they are both inherently against our interests

Bravo! This is what I've been calling for ages. The TFG crooks and the al-shabaab lunatics both serve a foreign master and thus have an agenda that has nothing to do with the welfare of somalis. They both need to go. But since nobody can take on both at the same time, this calls for a complicated machiavellian plot. I propose in joining forces with alshabaab (since the fufus look like they're easier to defeat) and then eliminating al-shabaab and their ideology afterwards.

What shall we call ourselves? SAM (Somali Anti-foreign Movement), or SSB (Sagaal iyo Sagaashan Bersenidka) or SSM (Somali Silent Majority)?

Abdiwahaab should have been the political adviser of General caydiid in 1991 instead of Cismaan Caato

The best and quickest thing that could resolve all this is , al shabaab splitting between those who have Somali blood in them and the rest . The former organizing themselves in a political fashion {party} .
The people of Somalia seem to be LOST in this equation I agree , that is NEVER a good recipe for a good outcome .

Somalia must be libarated FIRST, then comes a gov for the People by the People :som:
hal sentence aniga ha isoo tuurin e , waxaad ku soo biriin karto sheekada sheego , ama aniga iska key ignore garee
Liberated from what ? by whom?
hadal badan haan ma buuxsho. war ninyahow fadhiga ka kaca ee iska kor qaada cadowga idin dul jooga oo maskaxda idinka heysta, xabadda dhankiina ka bilaaba, guul ayaad gaarin doontaan haddi EEbe idmo, ictiraaf iska hilmaama .for us somalis to be libarated you must join struggle..you are the missing link. ma fahamtay.we will even give you some green regions after victory   ,

Indeed. The US [ and EU ] foreign Policy on this country must change if they want to see a stable Somalia,Using Kenya,Ethiopia (Our long term traditional hostile enemies) will only deepen the somali people hatred for USA .

Abdiwahab always has astute analysis when he posts seriously

To be honest, the best hope IMO is that the TFG cannibalizes itself, and the foreign donors get pissed and withhold funds. It almost happened this summer, but Museveni and Co. managed to save the show. AMISOM has obvious interests to make their mission an indefinite one this sh1t is like the deal of the century. Send away trigger happy military AND get their wages handled by foreigners( and off state revenue). They have no reason to ever end this mission. The main donors( US + EU) are motivated by security phobia and will support anyone who promises to handle that front. If the new incursions fail miserably as I envision they will they could eventually lose confidence in the whole process as it is and move closer to pulling the plug. There needs to be a reformulation of a national govt, and if not then just let Darwin's law take hold and let the natural process unfold.

Found this on my facebook today...waad is kashiftey...I know who you are abdiwahab :o
Why can't we "the silent majority" get a movement started here that will eventually give birth to a group in somalia with our "common good ideologies".In that way we could fund and stand for the intelligence side of things and they in turn could deploy an armey to defend country and ppl (By the way this could take 5 plus years)....Am I dreaming that ever returning dream again??/Silly me.

How did I miss this topic?

Well, there is no easy way out. What we need is not a political change as many of you have said; we need a cultural revolution to salvage our people and nation.

During the past 40 or so years, the average somali has learnt that there is an easy road to success; it is called afminshaarnimo, ma shaqeystenimo iyo qof waliba waa siyaasi.

We need a culture that promotes the virtue of working; the virtue of reasoning and long run thinking.

As long as every aspect of our lives evolve on the question of raping mandeeq instead of nurturing it we are bound to fail.
