Let's not kid ourselves, Hargeisa and xamar both have potential but at the moment every somali "city" looks like a shithole. Even other african cities are lightyears ahead in terms of infrastructure and development. They only way things will change is if Hargeisa and mogadishu have viable economies.

Our civil war really couldn't have come at a worse time. In 1990, Somalia was still relatively ok in terms of living standards compared to most African countries. Imagine what we could've been during these last 21 years?
