A few years back, I started playing a simple simulation game called "Nation States", the game Based is now using. It was interesting the first week or so, but it quickly became boring so I switched over to this new game called "Cyber Nations' which was similar to Nation States but a bit more complicated and a lot more fun. I started off with a simple nation and I joined a medium sized alliance where I was able to build my nation into a strong and prosperous one. Basically you collect taxes and pay bills and use the left over money to build infrastructure and buy tech. What makes the game fun is that your nation can declare war on other nations and you can destroy their infrastructure and loot their tech. The wars are usually not done solo but under the banner of an alliance, which is a confederacy of like minded states who unite to help each other build up and destroy their common enemies. I was pretty advice in the game community so I was able to rise through the ranks of my alliance until I became "Minister of Foreign Affairs", which was a step below the alliance leader and my responsibilities were to negotiate treaties with other alliances and promote a positive image of my alliance on the world stage, commonly refereed to as "Digiterra". I was fairly competent in my job, and when the alliance leader started becoming inactive due to "RL" (real life), I became de facto leader which put me in charge of about 80 nations.

I was a great alliance leader. I lead a recruitment drive which netted us like 20 new members, I cleared my cabinet of players who didn't devote enough time to the game and alliance, I had an economic policy which lead to prosperity among our members states, and I signed many good treaties which put my alliance in a good diplomatic position on the world stage. All was going well until a tyrannical alliance lead by a dictator Emperor (Who in real life was a fat jewish college student) declared war on an alliance which had a MDP (Mutual Defense Pact) with mine and that alliance activated our treaty and appealed to us for military assistance. The evil Emperor, who lead an alliance known as the NPO, declared war on our allied alliance using some bogus casus belli and it was obvious they were just trying to destroy alliances which they deemed a political threat one by one. I convened an emergency meeting of my ministers on IRC (Internet Relay Chat) and after a quick meeting, I authorized the deputy minister of foreign affairs to issue a deceleration of war upon NPO in defense of our ally per our MDP. Under my valiant leadership, my alliance conduced a successful blitzkrieg precisely at update time where we bombarded our enemies with cruise missiles, ground attacks, air attacks, and aerial bombardment attacks. The initial attack was successful, with many of the enemy nations being thrown into anarchy and losing hundreds in infrastructure. However the war dragged on for many weeks, and the NPO was able to call upon its cronies to came to its aid and the war spiraled out of control and came to encompass thousands of nations and dozens of alliances until nearly 2/3rds of DIgiterra was involved. My alliance fought bravely, but unfortunately our allies weren't as competent as we were in battle (probably because I wasn't their commander) and they were crushed by the NPO war machine. It became obvious that we were outgunned in the war, and a couple of weeks after our initial declaration of war, our allies and us were given a very harsh peace where we had to pay hundreds of millions in reparations to NPO and their allies along with thousands in tech. Even though we lost, my alliance had fought bravely in defense of an ally and we were lauded on the world stage for our courageous struggle against the tyrants, even in defeat great union was victorious.

Anyway, a couple of months later I was still leading my alliance. Things internally had been going bad because some troublesome members had been demanding we amend the alliance charter and turn the alliance into a democratic one, where I would have to run for elections. Even though I had a good power base, I was outraged at the idea of having my leadership validated by public vote so I refused the request and declared I was leader for life (I.E until I left the game). They got mad and started causing public discontent, so I banned those niggas from the alliance forum, expelled from the alliance, and ordered the MoD (Minister of Defense) to have their nations attacked for treason. But alas for me those bitches made a new alliance where they became poodles for a very strong alliance, who declared them a protectorate which prevented us from retaliating against then. I was like whatever, but then I was contacted by reps from that alliance demanding to know why we were were spying on them. Apparently the rebels had photo shoped some convincing IRC chatlogs/forum posts which "showed" my government orchestrating some spy operations against the other alliance. I denied the charges, but my claims fell on deaf ears and the big alliance declared war on my alliance. They were much much larger than my alliance, 5 to 1 ratio or something like that, and none of our allies could come to our aid because they had been devastated from the earlier way. After a few days of raping us I asked for surrender terms and they said that my alliance would have to dissolve and the government would be placed on a Z'I list (which means our nations would continually be attacked). If I refused, they threatened to ZI every member of my alliance. I was forced to accept the terms and ordered my alliance dissolved and accepted my fate as a martyr for my alliance. They started attacking my nation, and after a few days I decided to delete my account and not play anymore. I haven't been back for the past three years but I recently started playing again, but this time just as a normal foot soldier.

You have fought well Secular Union however you allied yourself to liberal nations and that was your downfall. This game sounds interesting enough that I have created my Sultanate, let us form an unholy alliance and bring our ancestors glory back.

@ Colonel- I'm glad you joined, but I could never being myself into league with an Islamist. I think there is a Islamist alliance that has been involved in a long running war with the Christian Coalition of Countries and you can join them if you wish....but do know that they are mostly shia
