Re: Wedding gift ideas.
What's wrong with a gift card?
They just got married so nothing "exciting" is going to be as exciting as that fact. Lakin they need certain things for their new home. If not blenders and toasters then carpets and curtains and dressers and bedsheets and glasses and dinner sets and radios and TVs and DVD players and ornaments and mirrors and shoe keepers. Do they even have sofas and dinning table and foot stools etc etc
As exciting as a concert is, these things cost money and a gift card to get this stuff would be very much appreciated imo.

Hee you know your cousin is getting married months in advance innit? The wedding gift is not something you literally take to the wedding.

I think the guy would especially appreciate these gifts waayo most of the burden of the aroos and nikaax and the house are on his shoulders.

It's better to get somthing you've use for it, all the dahab and cloth will come from the guys family anyway.Marka the rest of the qaraabo and friends will give u whatever ur house need.

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
I guess I am not that sentimental, practical gifts are better than random stuff you'll never use.
Of course if it is a romantic relationship then there are more options but other people and friends I don't get this making stuff and random bric a brac that people put on a shelf just to say so and so gave me that.
That said, the cooking lessons idea was pretty awesome. Then again if they don't have pots and pans and maacun then

You take the gift to the aroos
you go and see the girl at home maybe 2 weeks after the wedding and take it then.

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
The only people i have ever seen bring gifts are those who dont live in the city and even they give to family and is taken away we dont leave rigalo in the aroos! the girl has like a week where people come and bring everything usually she has friends and family to help her with qado or the casiriyo.

Re: Wedding gift ideas.
No I don't. Lakin in the process of firaashing up this house, ideally especially from family, that is when "gifts" would come in handy. The closer you are to a person the more practical their gift should be.
If it is a random person or a random friend then fair enough a random picture that you'll probably never hang on your wall is acceptable. It's true how often have you been to someone's house and thought wow I would so hang that picture on my wall? People have different tastes. I almost always wouldn't choose the presents people buy if I had the choice.
