Granpa is far from extremist
You're extreme and arrogant. U think everyone who doesn't think exactly like u, even if they are far more pious and knowledgeable then you is going to hell. I don't know how u can get more extreme than that.
:? :?: piety is subjective, sir. I also don't say anything from my own thinking, these are facts promoted by the scholars.

Who is stopping a sufi from making tawbah? No one.
u only accept a select few scholars, and reject all others. That itself speaks volumes.

Of course I choose select scholars, scholars of Salafiyyah who are upon the haqq, god bless them.

Now if your saying I am "arrogant" for following their fatawaas and advice regarding these individuals in Maghrib Institute, than be my guest.

Ur right Alpha, Piety is objective.

For example you might see Ayatollah Khamenei as some great relic of Islamic Revival, while I see him as a devil amongst devils.

And I think the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia is a great relic of Islam and a Shaykh among Shaykhs. While you may say he's a tool and mouth piece of the Kingdom.

But only one opinion is right in front of God? That's why we have scholars to tell me who is righteous and who is a devil deducing from the Quran, Sunnah and Sahabah.

the fact you used political and/or religious leaders as focal points of piety says a lot.

I cannot be wrong because I don't refer to myself, I go ask the most knowledgable upon the earth.

culuma.

If my opinion disagrees with theirs I will follow theirs cause they know better.

Now I bet you will follow up with: Are you scholars infallible? No of course not and if a scholar errors in regards to an affair, they would be corrected by the vast majority of the other scholars. Therefore, the error margin is eliminated.

Don't look as if I am making these things outta the blue I get it from the fountain of knowledge.

Wondering how your re-reinterpretation is going.
I've put that on hold. I'm now spending my free time reading /analyzing The Bull Curve and The Clash of Civilizations and literature of that nature.

no, here's the thing, your scholars only listen to scholars who have the same thought as them. The one's who don't have the same thought as them, they insult, they slander, they don't accept them at all. So the margin of error isn't really being eliminated.

So what happens when your scholars are the wrong ones, and the ones they claim are wrong, are actually correct.

that isn't true. they say they are misguided, but yes, the inference can be made. then again, scholars and propogators of various groups cpme together to debate who is (in)correct. you can videos of usually indo-pak doing this.

the people that gramps here admires are not the scholars, but people who claim to follow them. those of spubs.com

Shirib first of all stop putting words in my mouth, I never claimed that I am saved and I am a road to jannah. Generally yes, the Salafis i.e those who follow the Qur'an, Sunnah based upon the understand of the blessed Salaf is the path to being saved. I strive to adhere to that path.

Second of all, who are these mystery "scholars" whom you are constantly referring to? You do realize there's no culuma outside the Arab lands? :?

Don't tell me Yasir Qadhi is your sheikh
