Don't sound too bad, so the dambi level is gossiping level, as long as you don't spy on them and you were going to gossip about people anyway this way you get 100K while you do it. And what's this about not having friends? You have your friends and the ones you gossip about. Kind of unfair to expect the latter group to be your real friends lol and trust is overrated.

no, its not just gossip, u are told to go places and collect dirt, record things, etc. Ma fahamti? What do you think you're translating here, things that come out of thin air?

Shirib is right...it's basically snitching.

You do things like translate somali websites/news...transcripts of phone convos etc for US agencies and defense contractors.

It might sound innocent enough until you remember who you're giving this info to.

A lot of the audio is targeted recordings. They go to a specific person trying to get them to say things, it's not just finding random information. Soomaalida inee gaalada amineenin waad oktahayee, ya u maleysaa inoo waxaas soo duub la dhahaayoo.

BV it was simply translating transcripts and what not, you'd get a job that paid 25-30 an hour which translates to 50-60K, not over a 100K.

I know someone who drove a truck for a random contractor in the heat of the Iraq war. Paid an outrageous amount considering the job.

It's the height of a war, they risk driving over an IED, so they need that ridiculous compensation

Yeah the compensation is understandable. Beyond the IED's they were also kidnapping truck drivers at a crazy rate back then. Definitely a high risk job.
