I have always had this idea for men . Instead of wearing like shirts and pants like we do here { western style} , I thought of starting a new style .
Essentially it would consist of pants and a longsleeve shirt kind of like this

Laakin I would add colours to the pants . I would make them as colourful as the macawis is . solid fabric comfortable in all seasons .

the top would come in plain colours like , beige , black, white,maroon ....

That would be en entirely new style . Hey if any other somali wanna steal the idea go ahead , I'll buy your first pair

That's weird. I went to plenty young Somali couple's weddings and the bride always wears two dresses. One is that hindi type dress and the other is the proper white wedding dress. When you ask them why are you going to wear two dresses and more importantly why the white dress? And they're always like, 'I have to wear the white dress so people know I'm a virgin blah blah blah.'

LOL, you know it. The funniest ones are the ones YOU KNOW and GREW UP WITH and you know all the shit they did and all the stories about them and then you go to their wedding and they're wearing a pure, white dress.

Dirics are made of a thin cotton, a relatively inexpensive material. Silk is actually heavier, costly and less see-through - perfect material for wedding attire.

Believ it or not, there was a time I wanted to go into the textile and clothing industry. I would make a killing back home producing and selling high quality dirics, shaadhadh, macawisyo etc.

A Somali wedding had to be closed down to by the police due to terrible dancing and pollution caused by heavy unsified and over perfumed scents.
