^^You're right, Eaglehawk is mistaking him with other pictures (example below) from the same book by Luigi Brichetti Robecchi, if I'm not mistaken.

I think together with Yawle the best Isaaq poet in history, altough poets like Gammuute and ina Jamac Haabil were very underrated. Unfortunately inter ISAAQ wars were taking place at that time as ina Cali Fadal and Yawle were busy at some point targeting each other cisha walba. Wonder what happend after Isaaq baa mulkiyay maaxdi Caynabee from Yawle in his Isaaqnimo days.

No salaaan carabay might be the best habarjeclo or Habar xabusheed poet but not the best isaaq poet

The best Isaaq poet is Sultaan Nuur dhegocun the older brother of Qawdhan Ducaale

But i give u one thing Salaan was the best poet in the guba series that's why he became famous gabaygi dheera h ka kacayey boqolka iyo dheeraadka tudhuc ayuu ku badiyey but he is atleast in the top 5 of the best isaaq poets Yawle was also Cool not bad and had lots of wisdom but he is not the best Isaaq poet.

Xassan tarabi and Nuur dhegocun were had the finest of poetic art when it comes to hal abur maansaruug and golle ka fuul

i give salaan one thing he did golle ka fuul balaayo bu aha do u know how he married his reer hagar wife the reer hagar asked him we will give naagtaad rabtid ,, but bring us the best horse of the bahararsame dhulbahante clan gabay tix dheer ah bu ka tiriye marku u tagay dhulbahantihi bahararsame faraski wa soo siiyeen naagtina sidi bu ku qaatay
