It's good, because once he read Allahs words he will be reminded of yoma alkhirah, and thanks to hadiths he will follow the sunnah, and learn how our rasuul csw was patient and kind to his wives and children.Either way Al hadaaya mina Allah, ending up in jail will not do any good to his family.Maybe in this way Allah will guide him to the right path.
Excellent reply...one of the best I have read in a while here.

Allah will not be pleased with what he did to his wife but Allah will be very pleased with the punishment he received.
There is a rule and then there is a punishment for anyone breaks it.. Not the other way around! You dont wait til someone does that shit then remind him of 'quran and akhira' so he dont do it next time! Punish him the punishment IS the reminder.

Do u even know how ridiculous the verdict is.. I mean the guy could be haafiz al quraan already lol im sure it never crossed the judges mind!

If any of you guys gets physically assaulted by someone... lets say in a street, would you say Qur'an and ahadeeth are a fitting chastisement?

This isn't a stranger, it's a couple. Nonetheless it is still a brutal act.

hyperactive wrote:es, we are not in the court and we dont have all facts. we are here talking in general. i worked in family courts as internship; it could his wife forgave him in front of judge, could be first offense, it could be his wife knows jailing him not beneficial for her and her kids!! we dont know the facts. im sure the judge has all the facts and sentences accordingly. the family courts mostly have guidelines but judges have soo much falexability depends their situations, the class of the family and their community.

when you're dealing it and when you reading it, is different situation. im sure the family judge did the best for the family as a whole.
As my uncle ducaale would say...Absulutaly

"This made the man more incensed and he started beating her severely. A report issued by King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah showed she suffered bruises on different parts of the body including nose, neck, head, legs and arms".

Even after that, all he gets is sitting down for an exam? Something is wrong here.

Dakhtar Yalaxow don't misquote the religion old man.
“As to those women on whose part you see ill‑conduct, admonish them (first), (next) refuse to share their beds, (and last) beat them (lightly, if it is useful); but if they return to obedience, seek not against them means (of annoyance). Surely, Allaah is Ever Most High, Most Great”

[al-Nisa’ 4:34]
‘Ata’ said: I said to Ibn ‘Abbaas, what is the kind of hitting that is not harsh? He said, Hitting with a siwaak and the like. [A siwaak is a small stick or twig used for cleaning the teeth - Translator]
On the contrary the Quran encourages a man to be gentle with his wife
“and live with them honourably. If you dislike them, it may be that you dislike a thing and Allaah brings through it a great deal of good”
[al-Nisa’ 4:19]

“And they (women) have rights (over their husbands as regards living expenses) similar (to those of their husbands) over them (as regards obedience and respect) to what is reasonable, but men have a degree (of responsibility) over them. And Allaah is All-Mighty, All-Wise”

[al-Baqarah 2:228]
Did you know that Prophet (SAW) never hit one of his blessed wives?
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) enjoined kind treatment and honouring of one’s wife, and he described the best of people as those who are best to their wives. He said: “The best of you are those who are the best to their wives, and I am the best of you to my wives.” Narrated by al-Tirmidhi, 3895; Ibn Maajah, 1977; classed as saheeh by al-Albaani in Saheeh al-Tirmidhi.

I've noticed that many of you are quick to jump to conclusions and accusations without actually finding out if the information you have is correct. It just showcases the innate biases you guys have. Did any of you actually read the article? Especially the poster?
The BIP claimed that the beating was haram and punishable under the Shariah laws. The prosecution demanded deterrent punishment for the man.

The private right of the wife was dropped following a settlement through which the husband paid his wife SR7000 as compensation.
