ah i see the problem, i first thought that you failed to read the answer i provided with my last post.

but upon further reading it appears that you confuse "conservative" and "islamist" with alshabab?
is this correct?

i clearly stated that the majority of the population is conservative, but a tiny minority supports alshabaab.

do you really believe that alshabaab = every conservative muslim out there??

your post is really strange.

In an earlier comment, you claimed:

"You should all remember that allot of people are al-shabaab sympathizers especially in Somaliland and Puntland."

Remember any person seen smoking cigarettes, playing or watching football games, men from shaving their beards, had been severely punished.

Good riddance

why do you want amputations and stoning to be history? do you not know that these are islamic rulings and must be applied?

allot of people is a subjective term , you should know that, especially if you follow the context of the rest of the posts.
for some people a couple of thousand out of a population of 3.5-4 million is allot of people, to others it too few.

there are definatley hundreds of al-shabaab supporters but because they are well hidden, and because the population is not supportive of them
and would act against them independently of the authorities, the guess that they are the tip of an ice berg and thus possibly in the thousands is not that far off.

now back to the statement "allot of people" conjusring 75% out of the air on the basis of this statement is surprising isn't it?

Because khulafa'u-r raashidin era had had welfare system and only 4 amputations had taken place. Can you guess what amputation was their last punishment? First, they put them in prison in anticipation that prison will change criminals the way society wants them and if the criminals remain defiant, the authority deports them to somewhere. If that didn't work, they'll amputate the limps off.
Now tell me if shabab have the knowledge to accomplish Islamic government?

non of that is true.

only during a brief time of Cumar binu al Khataab era was the stealing punishment (hands being chopped off) abandoned due to the severe poverty that stroke muslims back then, its said that a man had to steal in order to eat. other than that amputation was always the first punishment, do i need to remind you of the hadiith were the profit swears if his daughter steals he will cut her hand.

When was the last time a country/civilization that had laws such as cutting of hand of the thief or stoning, was at the top. Not for around 400-500 years? And how long was that civilization at the the top, 400-600..years? Less than pagan civilizations?....

closer to 1100 years
Europe only overtook the muslim world economically and technologically after the 1700's.

in some areas like public and private hygiene it took till the early 1900's for Europeans to catch up to the muslim world.

there is nothing wrong with hadd laws as long as you have competent judges.
