He'd done something and was on the news and I was having a rant because I was pissed, called him a hypocrite and an opportunist blah blah blah and you guys told me that he was actually principled in that he's always had the goal of an Islamic State and more or less explained his reasons/where he was coming from.

I agree he was principled, but if u want principled, Al Shabaab has the most principle of any group in Somalia, that doesn't mean that they haven't been killing people left and right.

HDA is a cancer that never goes away. He somehow escaped the liquidation of the extremist agitators in the 70s, the destruction of Al-Itixaad, ICU, Hizbul Islam, and now apparently Shabab.
What is it with Cayr and being able to constantly reinvent yourself and survive?
You've got to respect that.

The HG hate is very strong today. Where is the criticisms towards the big boys in the organization instead of focus and attention towards petty individuals like Aweys?
