Theorectically speaking, it would be a drop in the bucket to support ProUnion forces in Somaliland. Not much, heck even 300,000 a month would keep Khatuumo afloat and on the move.
I believe we can have a quid pro quo. The thing with proxy wars is that we can reciprocate in kind. :D If Somalia wishes to play a zero sum game with Somaliland, we're more than happy to oblige. :sland:  But before you can have wet dreams, lets first get rid of the Foreign Troops in Somalia eh?

Again, I did not put priority on unification hence my earlier assessment to simply ignore the Somaliland issue until consolidation of the South.

Capo Abdiwahab-

You have answered honestly your position on Somaliland showed you wish them no ill. I think the problem is Somalilands have you are with us or against us mentality. It is true some are with them and some are against them but you have shown to represent the detente group who value unity but wish to see the North bring the issue.

There is no more reason for you to pressured into a yes or no box.

As for the federalism; Capo I understand where you are coming from and it is an easy one to see if you are aware of Somalia socio-clan dynamics. I think even coming from a clan that stands to gain through federalism, I understand your concerns as an advocate of the "H" position and will agree the only way to make the issue be fair, just, and as progressive as I want it to be is to make a sense of ownership based on RESIDENCY and not CLAN. Hence, why I believe because Somalis are still now practicing ownership based on clan they are not mature enough for the sort of progressive Federalism I hope for, still it is my long term vision to see such a political system flourish in the Somali peninsula.

And then after all that hard work go back to square one with a fight with Somaliland.

AbdiWahab, any way you slice it any new government in Somalia will have to address Somaliland as soon as it is sworn in. It is part of the transition process. Get Somalia out of the quagmire and also solve the Somalia-Somaliland impasse. Somalia cannot ignore it. The powers that be that pay Somalia's salary want them to come to some sort of amicable solution. Knowing full well where Somaliland stands, and the weaker position Somalia is in all of this I'd have to say your fantasy will not materialize.

I do appreciate your empty bravado though. The words of Salan Carabay come to mind, hadaad ficil hinaastay aadse hiilin kari wayday ma afkaad ku ciil bixi cidlaad ka hanjabaysaaye.

Abdi and since when do you speak for my fellow countrymen lool

The people of somaliland wanted the union not the politician back than they thought getting back the stolen land that was taken from them by ethiopia they could get it back only if they get the support of the walanweyns
No wars or feuding between somalilanders. We just wanted the hawd back but we made some bad errors

Cigaal chapter 1969 is another topic lets not get into that

Salah proxy war in somalia is useless
Ethiopia and eritrea already fought a proxy war there somalia is already broken divided into tribal fiefdoms
U dont really need to do much

Horta u koonfurians have no attachment to djbouti nfd ogadenia waligin idinko hadal haya ma arkin
Maad ka quusateen horta lol

1. My approach is built on dealing with the power brokers on the ground. The men who are holed up in their villages, with the Caapo qabiils and real power brokers not roaming politicians who don't have a techniko to their name. Jubbaland, Puntland, Galmudug are entities whose power are derived from the local leadership. Among the populace, there is wide spread acceptance that there must be a strong unity government in Mogadishu. A few elites in foreign countries will not change the push towards unity.

2. Sadly, there is very little integration of Konfurians in the Northern landers. Those children are reminded on a daily basis that they are not from there and are guests. In the end, they will side with their Konfurian people. It is the Oromo migrant children who are being absorbed in large numbers in the North into the Lander system of tribal patronage.

3. Dismantling Ex-Italian Somaliland will be very difficult by the Somaliland authorities. There are no proxies they can use in the South unless they wish to link up with Al Shabab. The reality is that there is immense popular support for Union among natives of Awdal and Sool/Sanaag which is based on the old conflict pitting the SNM against Former Mogadishu Supporters.

In the end, the tactical advantage is towards Konfur  The reason why Somaliland got away was because of the decline of Mogadishu and not because of their superiority of military or economic proweress. For 22 years, Konfurians were busy working against each other but if they decide to work towards a ProUnity campaign in supporting allies in Ex-British Somaliland, Hargeisa will experience immense pressure to: 1. secede these territories 2. seek a Taiwanlike Status 3. Fight a losing war

1. I have 22 years of evidence that dismantles your optimism it is the only reason why Amisom must be awarded citizenship and incorporated into the regular Somali army to there to every be an ARMED force that functions with discipline.

2. I Disagree my Murursade family members live in Hargeysa and they speak, walk, eat and barf like northerners... It goes deeper they reason and debate and even throw tantrums like northerners. I don't know who lied to you but those who have the money have been fully incorporated it is the few who can't afford to rent who live in camps... $ is a visa. The ones with money are the ones that also receive education 10years down the line... will have thousands of Buubaas and kaluuns coming home to cook some nasty cambulo to make shabab sound like sunday picnic in the park.

3. Last time i check the geographical positioning and Clan settlement in Koonfur god forbid but Hutu has only the Indian ocean as an escape route and it is one heck of swim to hindustan in shark invested waters. Just like Isaaqia you will have sawed the seeds of Hutu Isolation from the rest of africa, barring some Ajuran and Degodia who are foreigners in this game. I fail to see any logic in promoting specific Clan isolationism when you are merely paving the way and creating Precedents that will be will form the basis of Hutustan homogeneity with it's back to the Indian ocean.

i. You wish us all in perpetual failed status or worse still extinction.
ii. You must see sense in why we are better off having our eggs in several states that counter balance each other.

We are better if with a few more Djboutis then another 22 years of being the butt of global jokes.

Salahdiin,

Yes, of course we will pay lip service to peace and talks with the Hargeisa-Burco-Berbera city administrations. A referendum will occur and only when it favors a Unity platform

The mere fact Silaanyo met with Sharif shows that the international community wants unity and Silaanyo, may he live long and prosper is preparing to pull his 1 million kinsmen out of the Somaliland Matrix slowly and bring them back to reality, something Halyeey Abdirahman Tur realized way too late.

Ciirwaaq,

Let us agree to disagree. I am for a united Somali State  11 million strong Somalis with an allegiance to one flag, one republic  You want a cluster of Somali nations that are client states of foreign powers. I long for the days of a strong Republic that was a beacon of hope for the Oppressed Somalis in Somali Galbeed and NFD. The same republic that that rose up to free its little brother from French colonisation. That is my Somalia

Salahdiin,

We all must laugh  Its free and a great way to relieve stress.

Abdiwahaab era of centralism is all over his own countrymen wont have it the puntlanders are already a country within a country
They have their own policies and constitution. And this is just the begining. Kenya and ethiopia are also deeply involved in somalias domestic issues

AW is a typical HUTU, he cant help listening to the jaberti's speaking in his head. If his Somalia ever gets of its knees and is stronger and sober enough to involve itself in the affair's of Somaliland. This would satisfy Somaliland/Isaaq's traditional enemies who would dearly love to use AW peoples thirst for violence to get one over on us. I would however, question the logic or benefit for AW's people in any war that breaks out. As he is well aware the Kashmiris have no love lost with his people and would be the first to put that knife far more quickly then any other Darod tribe. Him wanting them to join Somalia is a HUTU not thinking straight. He should be glad that Somaliland has kept these people busy. The truth is a war between Somalia and Somaliland will be a lose for Hawiye and Isaaq....
