Adeer LamGoodle, good to see you are back in your usual form and still kicking it.

Somalis exist to fill their pockets, clan allegiance is so yesterday. Just look at when the MPs were being selected, most of the elders were choosing candidates based on the weight of their suit cases. It's all about self interest these days, MAXAA IIGA JIRA, MAXAAA KA HELI.

If we truly want to please our invisible god, then we would've looked after our youths, our women and our children rotting in refugee camps, and prisons all over the globe.

True. BlueNwhite. I stongly blv that Baadiyow and Samatar could do something. I don't think they are motivated by greed.

Twist, saaxibow, waxaan rabay inaan Kenya aado laakin waay ii suurtobi weysay. I went instead of Uzbekistan after the summer holidays. I spent it in a summer cottage on the border of Finland/Sweden. 24 sac qoraxdu waay soo jeeday. There were no amneties (latrines instead of toilets, you had to fetch your water).

Black-star; yes, I am lame.

BlueNwhite,

I did a small bibliometric analysis on the PhD holders in the race. There are several databases out there but the most important one is WEB OF SCIENCE which keeps journal citation records (JCR).

Samatar has a few publications in WOS. He is also a tenured professor (very important in academia).

Abdiweli has a number of non-web-of science records (regional journals and third tier journals) but nothing in the web of science. He was not tenured but I am certain that had he stayed in the US he could be tenure tracked.

Kuwa kale have a PhD dissertation citation in other data bases.

A PhD degree in the social/humanities is an academic degree. As a PhD holder, you are expected to publish. if you don't you perish.

Of course you could be a businessman or join industry...

I support samatar because it is not greed that is motivating him. Baadiyow helped Xamar with institutions of higher education. He has also the ability to include religious elements into the government.

So, let us keep our fingers crossed.

Saaxib, waxbarashadu waa muhiim. Faqrinamada xagga maskaxka waa loogu baxi karaa

Laakin sidee loogu baxi karaa faqrinimada xagga maalka?
Lacagta ama maalka aduunkaan aad ayay u taashaa, waxaad u baahan tahay cilmi aad ku fahanto halka xariiqimaha ey ku aroorto ey maraan.

hadii cunuga/dhalinta Somalida laga saacido waxbarasho ilaa heer dugsi sare iyo waliba degenaasho ey dhinac socato nimaadka dhaqaalaha furfuran waxaa hubanti ah in Somalidu wax gaaban ey cibir tiri karaan faqriga badankiis.

Laakin aan ka hadal wax yaalo la taaban karo oo aan qabano haba yaraadeenee!

That was my point too.

The clan is what I call "the god", "clanism" is the religion.

Here is the deal: there is some bad news and good news. The bad news is I was always somewhat disappointed with your previous essays not because they weren't good but because I sensed you were better than that since it was evident from the get go you are a gifted writer who is in a league of his own.

The good news is that was fockin' excellent piece of writing. Absolutely beautiful!

Ugaas Lamagoodle waa kuu istaagay my boss. Hope all is well with you al-ustaad.

Thanks Malaaq. How is life? Sorry I couldn't make the trip. I hope you enjoyed it and the folks in that part of the world are doing great.
