The "standards" your male privilege and general sexism allow you to see, rather. But please go on with your shallow statements and ridiculous emoticons. "I've witnessed it, ergo it must be indicative of society's treatment of women."FAH1223 wrote:Really?
Hollywood and the societal norms I SEE has made it acceptable for a woman to cheat.
They're the victims when they cheat. The man is a good for nothing and is ALWAYS at fault no matter the situation.
Look at hollywood and TV, thats exactly whats going onblitzkrieg wrote: The "standards" your male privilege and general sexism allow you to see, rather. Please show me the next time a cheating man is referred to as a temptress, a home-wrecking whore. Society treats a woman who cheats as a victim? A victim of what? Women who have consensual sex with their boyfriends are labeled as sluts, and you're honestly attempting to make me believe that society states that a woman who cheats on her husband is a victim?
In addition, how often is the man the woman cheated with villainized? Is he referred to as a "home-wrecker", as the "other man" the way women are commonly referred to as the "other woman"? Do you agree that home-wrecker is essentially a gendered term? If so, isn't it indicative that we don't f-king coddle women when we even slur the complicit partners in the cheating, while men aren't typically labeled as home-wreckers?
So if I were to cheat on my boyfriend, I wouldn't be known on campus as the slut who broke her guy's heart? I'd be a victim? People would pat me on the back and comment on how he must have been a terrible man to begin with?
Yeah, o.k.
