But i've been hearing that you can put certain 'clauses' and rules if you will
in marriage contracts
so i will tell my sister to put 'no extra wives' in the marriage contract.
In this time and age, it's not reasonable to get a second wife who does not need to be one.

But now I know that things are not always that simple and life somtimes deals you cards that leave you with little choice. You never know what goes on between two people and if they are happy doing it, and it is halal, who are we to forbid it. However the system is open to abuse and manipulation where often many women fall pray to some selfish odeys who will use and abuse them and then throw them like a used dirty toilet paper.

Girls, being a 2nd(or 3rd or 4th) wife could be more virtuous for you then being a lone wife even though you might not perceive it that way now.If your husband tries his best to look after your rights in this type of marriage and you stick to your side of the deal and be an obedient wife, you will live honourably in this life and inshallah you will enter Paradise in the next one. On the other hand, you could be in a monogamous marriage and not receive your rights.Polygamy in itself should not be an issue because it is permitted by our deen. The question is about rights.

Also remember all men where single once so the fact the that you married him first does not prevent him marrying again along with you.So remember if you marrying a single man, make sure you have come to terms with the fact that he could decide to marry again.
