One of the problems is that there were no Hadith books in Somalia before the civil-war. I think they was only Riyadul Salihiin, Safiina Salad and Nahwa. and Somalis just use to memorize the Quran in arabic and never learn its meaning.
but since the civil-war. there have been abundance of hadith books such as Bukhari, Muslim, Abu-Daud etc and the Quran and all Hadith books wree translated in Somali and ppl are better educated on their religion today, then before the civil-war.

Ami a quranist! Perhaps... But the prophet didn't follow any hadiths he followed the Quran only, so he's actions are based off of the Quran's guidance , and he was sent only to bring the Quran to the people nothin more... Also some hadiths are fake and have been changed , some go against the Quran too...I follow Quran first then I check to see if the Hadith correlates with the Quran. If Muslim only follow Quran there would be no Sunni or Shia

You have to be careful with Hadiths. There are some Hadiths that are still, to this day, declared as fake by the scholars and are thrown out. To this day. In 2013.

I wouldn't go as far as denying the hadith but be aware that you shouldn't hold the Hadith with the same confidence that you would have with the Qu'ran. Yes, the Hadith teaches you how to perform salat, etc but Qu'ran comes first and foremost. never ever replace it.

A year ago, a guy I just met that same hour asked me why Somalis are the way they are. He asked that question because a Somali guy he trusted stole his valuable belongings and he's had previous bad experiences with them. I told him many Somalis grew up in low-income neighborhoods when they immigrated here so their surroundings are harsh and they had to be tough and gangster-like growing up to protect themselves and to prove a point.
