Enlightened~Sista wrote:It is perfectly understandable, who'd want anything to do with Somalia? It's a mess. When it was peaceful and prosperous, for decades and decades there were no murmurings of 'secession' etc. Isaaqs lived in Mogadhishu, studied in its universities ..etcetc. My Dad talks fondly of his time traversing across Somalia going to places like Mogadishu ,Marka Cadeey etc. It's only recently when Somalia's fallen on hard times that people don't want anything to do with it. I really don't blame them.

I don't think the solution is to isolate yourself, create tribal enclaves and call it a country...citing how it's peaceful ..well of course you will get along {not always as the recent deadly riots and previous interIsaaq wars has shown}.
when it was peaceful? well unless you was living under a rock, during that "peaceful" period somalia was massacring civilians and kept everyone quiet by an iron fist.

"deadly riot" and "inter-isaaq war" walaahi islama yaabtid ba  are you related to coeus

the inter isaaq wars happened after the civil war as tensions were still high, as for these "deadly riots" you have to explain them to me because I don't any deadly ones

Maxaad ku qoslaysaa lol it was around that time wasn't it?..Our house was riddled with like a gazillion bullets and it was being used as a toilet. My relatives were living in refugee camps in Burco.

Cumar I don't hate my clan..I hate all clans. It would be a dream come true if Somalida became like the Kuwaiti youth..majority of whom can't even recall what tribe they belonged to...and look at them getting along brilliantly. :P

keep wasting your time on unrealistic dreams while we in Somaliland build a nation, a successful nation that would ultimately deal with all major social and economic problems including the tribalistic culture of the somalis that you seem to complain. Overcoming tribalism and nepotism does not need hallow dreams and unrealistic wishes based on emotions, but it requires building institutions, the right institutions that have the transformative capacity to make real change possible. That is exactly what we are busy at now meanwhile keep entertaining yourself with daydreams.
