He buried the disease of clannism and stipulated a severe penalty for whoever is caught favoring someone in favor of his clan. Eg. when i was really young, i was completely if all ignorant of classification of clans. They seemed insignificant to me until the break out of our tribal war that i came to its knowledge.

Your kidding right...?
triblism is natural...this guy made it evil..Distinguished between tribes and clans and giving certain ones power over others…Good Lord who was the one who created the invisible walls between the 3 states in the horn of Africa now…
He did hide the agenda of qabil but only to stare power…
You know how Hitler brough up Germany from nothing with passion and power...well that evil magnetic dark hardship of power is his legacy

The reason TheLewd starts thread after thread about Siad Barre -a dead man bytheway - is the simple fact that he arrested his treasenous father and kept him in jail until his kinship literally begged Siad Barre to release him, only to be exiled. Marka TheLewd, we know where you are coming with the hostility you have been harboring for Siad Barre, and believe me it's understandable.
Siad Barre is the man who summoned Sheikh Ali Sufi (Raximahu-Allah) and asked to invent a Somali religion and discard the Arab religion (Islam), albeit sukking the petro-dollar from the side. Nevetheless, he left some remarkable historical marks in the land which any sensible man would give him credit for. That is human nature, we all have our own fallacies but look what is happening to beautiful country he left behind, it just happened as he predicted, he called the Moryans "Yeey". In the Somali story folks, Yeey is an animal that strips the flesh from the bone in one lick and that is exactly what the Moryans did to beautiful Somalia, they likked once, and there was no more. So cut the old dude some slack

Luggooyyo
So far you exceeded my expectations. You are accussing Afweeyne and that other Sheikh committing shirk, in your own words by; "inventing a Somali religion and discard(ed) Islam". Next time you make those sorts of allegations, remember to never use me as a shield. If it is true, then it is part of his legacy. This man is an integral to Somalia's modern history. Other people do discuss the legacies of their leaders, and that is why I brought this up, but not on condition of that imaginative bio that you constructed for me. I asked a simple question, and you exploded a bomb. Can you eleborate the "Somali religion" that Afweyne invented?
DamallaXagare
Although you raised some positive points, and others contend it, let us hear how they disect your points. I understood the points you raised and thanks for that. What do you think of the explossive allegation that Luggooyyo raised? Just ignore the haters and gossip writers.

TheLewd,
Sometimes anticipation blinds you and you trot beside the statement. Read I wrote, then check how you misconstrued the statement and simply gave it a totally different meaning. I never said Sheikh Cali Sufi fall for the idea, we all know how religious he was and we can see it from his progeny, that is the legacy the Sheikh left. And I am not trying to defame Siad Barre by fabricating this allegations, actually I got it from reliable sources close to the Sheikh.
But really, admit it, the only reason you always bring his name about is, what he did your father, right

Siyaad Barre dhimey!
Waa laga raystey! Bal arag nimcada iyo horumarka aynu dhex dabaalaneyno. Dib ayuu inoo dhigey. Waana ina laayey.
Sidii aynu iskaga xoreyney Siyaad ma qof baa inaga dhintey oo la inaga diley? Maya maya. Dadkii waa siman yihiin. Nabad, barwaaqo iyo bashbahs.
Sharaf iyo cisi waxaa inoogu horreyey markii aan is xoreyney. Adduunkii maanta ayeynu ku leenahay magac iyo sumcad.
Alleylehe waa laga raystey Siyaad iyo noociisa. OO maxaynu waa hore isu xoreyn weyney. Waxan oo nimco ah miyuu inaga hor joogey

Xoogsade
I'm trying to be objective as best as I can be, and till now, I'm reading what others are writing to make a final assessment of my own. Siyad Barre doesn't belong to clan history, but he is part and parcel of Somali history. That is why we are discussing his legacy.
My second point is that Luggooyyo raised a troubling issue which he accused (read it and don't shy away) that Afweeyne attempted (and has implied to have succeeded) to write what he termed a "Somali religion".
And he thinks that his evidence is solid as a rock, and let me qoute him for you;
"And I am not trying to defame Siad Barre by fabricating this allegations, actually I got it from reliable sources close to the Sheikh."
Did he write, or attempted to write a "Somali religion"? Any ideas? Your silence only indicates that you agree with him.
