Interesting, please explain. I'm always interested in how to bend people to my will effortlessly. I'm not charming at all (except when the situation forces me to be e.g. job interview). In fact I'm the complete and polar opposite - I would be called anti-charming. My personality is probably a cross between Stannis Baratheon (if you watch that drivel called Game of Thrones) and Cato the Younger. I have that ability to alienate everyone on earth apart from a select few utterly devoted to me. So uncharismatic I stand out.

stannis Baratheon? and cato the younger?
damn bro, thats not good.
and bending people to your will?

this statement "bending people to your will" is the reason why you are doing badly.
you should not desire this, you should try to influence people, nudge them in the direction you want,
when you pull or push people they will react against this on a subconcious level.

and you appear to lack empathy, this is important
without empathy towards others you will not be able to do anything.
you need to see things from their eyes, understand their feelings.

no you cannot pretend to care, you have to be able to care about people.
if you cannot do that then you have no chance in hell of being charismatic or likable.
even if you are a con man and are fooling people, even if you have negative goals, you still have to have empathy to connect with people.
even if you want pickup a chick bang her and then dump her, you will not succeed if you do not care or are able to care.

Charismatic people are both dangerous and necessary , history is dotted with such people who have both built and destroyed empires .To effectively galvanize and mobilize the credulous and ignorant masses to bring about societal changes or indeed in times of war for survival. In ancient times such characters often exploited humans seemingly inherent need to be inspired or dare i say hero worship. I agree with gurey when he says that very few are born with qualities and that they indeed can be learnt.
Reading subtle ques , use of grammatical structure to emphasis strategic pauses and the most striking attribute of said people is the ability to seamlessly guide their audience thoughts and to plant seeds early on, only to encourage them to recall at then end in a way that brings about desirable conclusions without them knowing.

I would give up many things to be among them.
