Me and my friends use to walk around like cocky bastards when most of our peers were failures, wallahi on the first day at Uni i met a 20 year old who graduated at 18 (he was one of those gifted and talented guys) and had already kick-started his career at an investment bank, he was on a 29k salary after just a year.

In my field, the starting salary is nearly £38,000. That much just to start a halal career that I love. I don't even plan on working after graduation but moving to Saudi Arabia for other matters that need attending to.

So Engineering is the best career path maa isleedahay...have you done your research? Did you know dentistry is noted to be the the no.1 highest starting salary career in the UK and much of the West. Practictioners earning from 79k after 1 or 2 years. Don't even get me started on the senior consultancies and how much they caking.

There are careers better than engineering, but it's something that I enjoy. I'll be working with computers all day long. I have options as well. I can work in the UK if I want, US, Saudi Arabia after uni there. I want to see if I can work at Aramco, the demand is high there for all kinds of engineers. If I'm not experienced enough I'll go back to school then work elsewhere.

Know your place sxb. There are Somali girls i've seen with my own eyes who are Dentists and qualified Pharmacists earning double and treble the amount me and you would start off with. Waxba ha is buunbuunin, if you do well in life, let your success speak for you. Hadii kale, hadal haan ma buuxsho.

LCB do you know how hard it is to get a job in Saudi? They MUST advertise the vacancy to Saudis first before they can even think of recruiting a foreigner. War even with a MsC you will find it very difficult to get a job down there because you will compete for a vacancy with 40-50yr olds who probably got 10-15yrs of experience.
