I dont want it for myself, however if others engage in it....more power to them.
That's the point. Like Vengeance said and Grant even, it happens that some people have perfectly happy polygamous relationships. What I am talking about is "the bit on the side" and how in our society that is something that we have been made to believe is halal or acceptable. When the second wife and resulting children are treated like a dirty secret to be hidden from his "real" family.

And that's a legitimate reason to seek to marry as many of those eggs as possible? What's the difference then between that and what gaalo do? Isn't it glorified one night stands?

no sis, is just marriage. people dont marry for one night stand. you know it cost loads of money to marry. let alone the responsibility and stress.

Haa waa runta, saas markaad dhahdid. Lakin the argument that a man just can't control himself and has to marry anything he sees then that's something else.

You know you'd think it never happens the other way around but I've seen it happen a lot. When a woman marries a guy who is less educated, less financially stable etc

You see that is the problem. You are rewarding the inability of a man to control what's between his legs. From a young age girls are trained to be cautious and virtue is drilled into their psyche, boys on the other hand are encouraged to take risks and sometimes encouraged to be immoral (you can't be a guy and be 25 and a virgin! - What's wrong with you?) These boys grow up never being in control of their reproductive organs or their hormones and then in adulthood they want to use Islam to justify this lack of control. You call it "love" if you want but we're talking about the same thing.

When a Muslim man is thinking about polygamy he's most likely not thinking about the poor 50 something year old woman with x number of children to raise and no husband to help her. He's probably thinking about the hot 20/30 something year old he could entice and enjoy. Sex Hyper, is exactly what it comes down to.

Why would you assume that a woman would not get tired of same old after 10 years?
A mans love is carnal and restless. A woman's love is distilled, more refined...it transcends boredom

the thing is not only muslim men thing. though muslim men can justify and is expectable even the poor one who cannot support 1 wife. dibka mesha yalo is not only men, he couldnt do it without women. hade every women said no, wouldnt happen.

asbefore said, if adults involved the act accepted is up to them. this time and age i do t thin a grown women is forced what they dont want.

That is a dangerous argument to lead when it comes to religion. The list is long of things that someone can do because they are an adult and they want to or choose to, a lot of those things are still wrong and still haram.

I tried to return an answer without sounding misogynistic or being sexist :snoop:
