Gurey Japan kind fascinates me and is an interesting case. On one hand I would have assumed the Yakuza family will play a big role here, be it via feminist revolution or marketing via aggressive and more in your face commercial sex industry. Could they be really content with only Kabukicho's over marketed, highly over priced host/hostess gimmick they are running now? Camon' man, even this gravy show is over due its expiry date, don't you think? Someone somewhere out there and even in the syndicate must be thinking futuristic especially given the Japanese 'pride' issue at stake here and their less than admirable immigration expat settlement stories. Heck if they want some stranger to test run it, I am more than willing to play ball and move to Japan. Got very interesting ideas for the place. Like you said, the place needs a shock therapy, be it through own yakuza familia or foreign. Your take mate?

Who told you this is their only interest? kabukicho makes up a tiny part of yakuza operations.
I found them to be quite friendly and harmless to tourists really, you can see them all over shinjuku with their funny suits and somtimes platform sandals.
Me and my mate were invited to hang out with them and we were too stupid to say no, but no harm came to us..
to be honest my friend has bad judgment and is too open with people, i left him for a minute and he dissapeared.
when i found him he was in a small bar with those yakuza types . I dont know how he did it, " he always does this" but with his broken japanese he was making them all laugh.

i found out later that they are like this with most tourists, they are involved in high level criminal operations but they take their reputation seriously and will moniter their block, and prevent pickpokets and other undesirables from harming tourists.
