Arab is term that originally referred to the Bedouin tribes of Arabia, not anyone else. Assyrians/Aramaic speakers and other neighbouring groups never identified as Arabs. In fact some Assyrian groups and Mandaeans still live and survive in modern day Iraq/Syria.
You are choosing and picking things, Sudanese are no more Arab than Egyptians yet one group are often questioned abut how Arab they are because of their colour while Egyptians are never. There is a clear double standard. Also Berbers today in North Africa are a minority. North African former Berber (now "Arabs") identify fully as Arabs.

There is definitely a double standard. The irony is that it's the Sudanese who actually have more haplogroup J paternal lineages, and by a lot. As we both know, Egyptians and especially Berbers are of course mainly haplogroup E1b1b carriers like most Somalis.
