innaa lillaahi wa innaa ilayhi raajicuun. The massacre of Muslims in the 90s contributed heavily to who many of us are nowadays. There's more massacres nowadays to raise another generation of Muslims.

The UN went there, declare it a save zone and disarmed the muslims. Only to retreat later and leave them alone to the Serubs.

Lightning strikes during a storm at the Memorial Centre in Potocari near Srebrenica, the night before a mass burial. The bodies of 520 recently identified victims of the Srebrenica massacre were buried today on the anniversary of the massacre when Bosnian Serb forces commanded by Ratko Mladic slaughtered 8,000 Muslim men and boys and buried them in mass graves.

Today:

"Russia has vetoed a UN resolution that would have condemned the 1995 massacre at Srebrenica during the Bosnian war as a "crime of genocide".

"Two international courts have called the slaughter by Bosnian Serbs of about 8,000 people, mainly Muslim men and boys, who had sought refuge at what was supposed to be a UN-protected site, genocide.

But Russia, Serbia and the Bosnian Serbs denounced the resolution as divisive."

It's a politically motivated move and a tit for tat between the west and Russia.

From my understanding of the veto Russia mostly object to the language and the framework of the resolution drafted by Britain which is wrongly interpreted from legal point of view. China was also against it because the resolution if adopted could effect countries beyond the Balkans and Russia.

The consequences of this resolution would serve no long term benefit to the Bosnian and Serbs relation. The Serbs also believe that they are been punished for going against the sanctions imposed on Russia.
