Nah, YummyMummy not claiming superiority. I think its better to aspire to be better. One gets nothing out of claiming they are lazy, soomaha? It doesn't propel the wheels of change.

While I'm enjoying the flaming of our dear AOC, OP has a point.

When you look at particular groups, such as those who are more comfortable calling family for money than getting a job, or those who use the money to buy khat instead of saving up for an investment (property for their children, business capital etc) you tend to question wtf is going on. But believe me OP, the amount of driven, successful (even if in spirit) and inspiring Somalis I have seen while here is incredible. I feel blessed to have my opinion so ...proven.

Maybe you are not around enough well-to-do educated Somalis, and all you see is negativity. Remove yourself from that environment as fast as you can. Not only does it decrease your morale (your thread shows this) but can seriously affect your children. Once you begin to surround yourself with like minded individuals, you'll see that we can be a driven and ambitious people.

I don't think women are lazy I believe it's the men!
