Is this supposed to sway young Muslims from joining the IS? There's at least 1 million angry young Muslims who are willing to join the IS. They haven't forgotten what happened in Abu Ghraib and other torture facilities, the mothers who still give birth to deformed children (due to uranium-enhanced weapons) in Fallujah & other places, the many massacres committed by occupied forces including the Haditha episode and other gross injustices that's still meted against Sunni Muslims. This is gonna be a long struggle, and if the IS is far stronger than many years ago, it's only natural that it would get stronger in coming years. What can kill you can make you stronger.

They're having delusions of grandeur, I think they've had their moment. With not even 10,000 troops under their command IS should be stretched pretty thinly right now. They may be holding a lot of territory, but most of it is desert. They are holding two large cities, Mosul in Iraq and Raqqa in Syria, but I doubt they'd be able to hold those towns if there is a rebellion against them. Mosul has 2 million inhabitants, get the people angry enough and they will kick IS out.....Chance of that happening? dunno

Where did this whole decapitation stuff come from at the beginning? Last I checked Islam doesn't allow mutilating the body of an enemy even after they die. The prophet particularly reminded his commanders to never mutilate the body of a slain enemy. What do these guys follow? More importantly, why do young Muslims join these guys?

If things get bad enough, the US will just step aside and let the Iranians take care of business.

There are many saheeh hadith showing instances of Umar (RA) asking the Prophet (SAW) to behead enemies, sometimes he was granted permission.
