A UN sanctioned referendum is held at the degmo level of each state. Then the degmos that vote 50% or more in favor of secession get to leave. Very simple and fair in my opinion.
 :sland:

Oo that is perfect i would support that  :D

Stop bringing me to your childish level. The world sees Somalia as from saylac too ras kamboni...when i reply to that point i feel more stupid at stating the obvious that retards like you bring up. To alot of educated people the term 'somalia' even donates all somali regions aka the horn.

thegoodshepherd stop being naive, its only togdheer minus the south of it and waaqoyi galbeed that want succession + west erigavo, and parts of east sool. Thats me being fair. They don't want a referendum because that = failure over night.
Yeah last time i checked harti vote in regards to their clan interests, grade 2 logic. seriously. not even joking. but only a marqaan would think differently.

There's plenty of farmland left in Sh/hoose.
Yes, while fertile (dhoobey) land is plentiful in Lower Shebelle, there is not enough water in the river to irrigate those lands.
The people from Beledweyne, Jowhar, balcad all the way to Qoryooley are sucking water from the river.
By the time the river reaches the ferile Sablale in southern Shebelle, it is gone, a dry river bed.
The people in Southern lower shebelle actually use rain water for their farms.
Kkkk @fertile

Clearly you have never seen of a farm!

There's no such thing as a fertile land!

There are rainy seasons and dry season, in somalia, people go farming in two seasons: spring and automn

In jubbaland there's only one farming season wich is the spring

In the shabelle region, it receives the two seasons, most of hiiraan is green except at the galgaduud borders where our postralists live

Since 2011 draught, jubba hasn't recovered because just spring is not enough for her to recover

In this season, while we are suffering from deyr floods jubba is totally dry

Checkout who produces more agricultural production, its the shabelle region

Starkast,
It doesn't matter. They have the right to self-determination. I never saw the reason for not giving them their own country. There is nothing muqadas about the current borders of Somalia. It is xaasidnimo to deny millions of people their right to decide their fate. The only problem I have with Somaliland is that they don't have a "live and let live" attitude, and are always attacking people.
But otherwise I understand why they want to secede, and I support whatever the outcome of the UN referendum is

Khalid,

I would never support Puntland seceding
After all, I want to own a mango and banana farm in Burdhuubo .
Reer Somaliland have nothing in Koonfur, so they have nothing to lose by seceding.
Why would I give up the right to live as a citizen in Jubaland, and limit myself to Bari, Nugal and Mudug?
I want the best of both for my people

Beledwyne is a large town far from being a village and it produces more then what the whole puntland produces!! That's the point here!

"Give them their own country"? What kind of nonsense is this? Somaliland existed as a sovereign nation before Somalia even gained independence.

It's either all of Somaliland or none of it.

SL exists de-facto, it is an actual government What it needs is de-jure recognition.

The only acceptable way for SL to secede is a referendum. No matter how it is designed. The UN has conducted hundreds of referendums on self-determination. A secession referendum is no going to be held in Kurdistan for example.
There is no way SL would be recognized by any nations without a referendum. In which everyone votes and decides whether they want to stay or go. Regions that vote to stay with Somalia stay, those that want to go, get to go.
Borders are not holy, there is no reason for SL to have the borders it had in 1960

Qofkan waalan yaa fahma wuxuu soo qoro? :pac:

Gurey is half Isaaq half Hawiye. His clan rule Somaliland while his reer abti rule Somalia.

He comes from both countries and unlike the dhabacyo nature of yours, he wish the best for both countries and Somalis wherever they are.

Somaliland is not seceding since it was not part of Somalia. Somaliland left the illegal union in 91.

The OAU charter states that the borders of Africa should remain as they were at the time of independence. SL will have the borders it had in the 1960, if it doesn't, what's the point of recreating the successor state of Somaliland republic that gained independence on June 26, 1960?

Our aspirations are based on recreating our country, not carving out some tribal fiefdom.

Will be decided by the parliamentry committee in the federal era but for now as an interim era, for political reasons, central state consists of galgaduud and mudug without including northern admins

Now you can imagin how can a federal state can consist less than two regions!

I think gaas nows what will happen so he's gone crazy these days

Nick kay has said its up to the parliamentry committee!.

thegoodshepherd : deny millions of people ? there is about 800k of people in waqooyi galbeed...they want to succeed because they are being told to, succession doesn't make sense, its fear.
sahal, don't get mad, i was just stating the truth. beledweyen produces more than pl, are u mad ?
Northern mudug ? aw maybe you should worry about hobyo port and how to build that instead of relying on xamar/bossao.
Xildiiid, are you ill ?, worry about wg/togdheer + west SS. My advice. You should learn more from gurey !
