I'm not saying Somalis romantic ma noqon karaan {some are/can for sure}just that there's a dearth of sweet words one can use for shukansi. Maybe i need to acquaint myself with Cilmi Bodhari's poems. (I know of his story ofcourse and wallahi I'm grateful such a man existed!)

I remember Dr Yalaxoow saying something really funny. When he was back in Mog wax la yidhaado kissing on the lips mey garaneeyn..the men just would squeeze naasaha with both hands the whole time. LOL. It's only when he came to Sweden that he got enlightened.

Laguage in it self is neither romantic or un-romantic. What one considers romantic, akward, cringey is all culturally dependent.

Sweet talking in somali will come very natural and easy for some people others will find it forced, formal and akward lol.

Kissing is not a social norm there. Which is odd considering how much Somalis emulate and adore Hindi culture. I remember asking my cousin if she ever kissed a nigga and she gave me a funny look and said war shimbir miya ahay warkas naga ka xeey

I've heard of Somali odayaal who've never seen their wives naked because of no electricity and lack of privacy due to the close living arrangements. But i was unprepared for what Dr Yalaxoow revealed...and this is Moqadhishu not the backwaters. Lord have mercy lol.

Maybe I have misunderstood "sweet talking" but unless you are insincere, nothing about it is a lie or nonsense.

You can be very affectionate with eachother and mean every word. My macaanow, gacaliye, habibti, the list goes on. I relish in giving and receiving that kind of bubbling love. Its engulfing. I heard its a waqooyi thing to be a bit cold, but that's silly because Bodheri, Hadraawi and most other poets come from the north and their romantic poetry is unmatched.
