My take on this is that President Ahmed Mohamed Mohamud Silanyo has done wonderful job especially in the last year and half. He even convinced me that it was worth giving SL ago. Before I did not see any hope for SL after my visit for the first time.

I was mad that people who entertain with recognition excuses. Silanyo changed that and he hardly mentions that word instead he goes to work every morning believing in the abilities of Somalilanders. He understands that nation building is home grown skill not something provided to you by a paper from the UN.

Silanyo has done his best but I believe he came to power bit too late. Nevertheless Silanyo is true Isaac and he has pursued some goals to good success such as reforming the monetary and tax collection though it was spearheaded by Eng. Hashi.

I am happy that he will retire and spend his last years with his grand-kids instead of chasing politics. The African leaders almost all get carried away from the State House by the coroners. Silanyo will do things different and shows how dignified and humble this man really is.

I really wish him well and I do like to see him retire. He should nominate Muse Bihi for the job.

Silanyo has done a lot for the nation of eight sons. History will be kind to him. I wish he left bigger legacy but he started something.
