who is the founder of hargeisa and what is the proof?

Sacad Muse was in Hargeisa long before Sheikh Madar. We do know that in 1840s the Sacad Muse community in Hargeisa were protesting the business monopoly of Haji Sharmarke Ali Saleh after he became the governor of Zeila and later Berbera.

I will soon share where I got my source from in regards to Sheikh Madar being moved around by the British for his safety. I believe it was on Whatever Happened To Somalia by John Drysdale.

Sheekh Madar along with 7 other Qaadiriya Mullah's settled in Hargaysa , so can the sacad muuse tell me why their particular mullah is the founder????? and not the other 6? for instance Kabiir Cumar who isn't even Isaaq.


faanka iyo beenta dadka ka daaya, Hargaysa was always temporarily settled by different moving nomads , the first permenant settlement was by these Qaadiriyah Mullahs , there is nothing special about Sheekh Madar he was just the head of the Qaadriya tariiqa no different then Sheekh Axmed of the Sheekh axmediya or sheikh Cali Carab of Xaaxi Axmediya Tariiqa.

Rubbish there was no Hargaysa in the 1840, no Sacad Muuse was in hargaysa in the 1840's , the Sacad Muuse were in Bulaxaar as recently as the 1900s , the Reer Axmed for example left Berbera around the 1920's. in the 1840's Xaaji Sharmaarke lived in Berbera only around 1849 did he manage to take over Zeila,

People confuse Toga herer with the modern Hargeysa city Toga herer was the Cabdi Ciise Valley of the Ciidagale branch the Cabdalle Isxaaq and and the Sacad muse of the Siciid ismaciil the Axmed cabdalle and Samatar cabdalle were always there in herer, there During the Mullahs who came from Berbera and Ethiopia Hawd Sheikh madar Haji Farax and Sheikh Muxummad of the reer Liibaan. When the reer Shirdoon and the reer Axmed fought in Berbera the reer Axmed made a defense pact with Sultan Diiriye the Ciidagale Sultan. i am reer hargeisa....xafada 26 june but originaly from 10-20 km north of hargeisa in village called malwle.
