For example the name, buulo xaawo comes from a rer axmedweyd women and not a leysan as the article states, when mx came to gedo for 150-200 years ago there was no rahanweyne there, there were some degodia clans but mostly oromos who got defeated and chased away.
The whole gedo region was rahanwen/garre

Baardheere-reer daafeed

Luuq- asharaf sarman

Doolow rahan was the reason that italy claimed it as her border in the agreement with manalik, I can show you!

Borders with kenya like bulo haawe ceel waaq was garre but the villages was established by marehan like buulohawo who died after siyaad barre!

You can read this well revised book by the westren scholars

Some marehan could be natives but the majority have migrated to there

I dont think Garre is considered rahanweyne and i have not meet anyone who claims it. They dont speak even the same language as the maay speakers elaay and leysan who is from bakool and Bay not gedo.

Marques,

I always suspected of Hawiye using few sensitive Isaac kids like Xildiid for their own agenda, he is now on time out after a major nervous break down. It is for his own good. He should learn to debate and share his opinion like a grown up man instead of throwing tantrums and acting proxy for the likes of you.

On this topic, if you disagree with what I have stated then challenge it like your brother Sahal instead of throwing around fake or sheegato. That is not my concern. I have my own theory and my own mind. I operate on that. I don't carry no Isaac chip on my shoulders.

Having said that back to the topic.

Sahal,

Hawiye had no presence in most parts of central Somalia and the Somali region. They are relatively new comers compared to the nation of Digil and Rahawein as well as some Darods including the Ogadens.

The Rahaweins were always the frontiers having being themselves former Gallas (Oromo) who were assimilated into the Somali nation as early as 16th century.

For them and for the Somalis in general, the war back on those days was not an ethnic or tribal one but a religious one. Since most Rahawein were converted to Islam in contrast to Waaq practice by the Gallas, they (Rahawein) strongly became associated with the Somalis since Islam was now significant part of their lives. To be Islam was to be above and pure than the pagan Gallas and their neighbors, so right away they cut all ties with the former relatives.

By 17th century, the Rahawein was the main inhabitants of central Somalia and most parts of Somali Region. The word Galla was associated with Oromo (their former name) and basically it became synonymous with pagan. Ever since then we called any non-Muslim by the original Oromo name; Gaal or Galla/Gaallo (plural).

Here is a poem from the nation of Rahawein describing their war with the Gallas (they memorized it generation to generation, it was written in the ).

Guuri yari i guur wiin
Maddi la ha deeri
Gumaalo geedi nagadeen
Gool libee ya la aragi
Seddi gamuun ye li gemi
Garri gamuunshey ye gunta la saarey

The rest of it talks about their journey to Gedo, magow Arfale, Eeyle etc.

This other particular poem called Gaala marki kooyti (Markay Gaalla timi) they speak about their own civil struggle and wars with the Galla tribes in an effort to push them back but the Gallas also invaded the Rahawein in particular the Arsi-Oromo.
The Galla, also called the Oromo, are the largest, most widely dispersed people group in Ethiopia. Composed of approximately a dozen tribal clusters, the Galla prefer the term "Oromo" when speaking of themselves. To them, the term "Galla" has a derogatory connotation. Nearly all the Galla speak mutually intelligible dialects of a language called Gallinya. Although they retain similarities in their descent system, they differ considerably in religion, lifestyle, and political organization.

Migrating from the Horn of Africa, the Galla arrived in Ethiopia four centuries ago. Together with the Amhara and the Tigrai, they dominated the government and military classes of the Ethiopian Empire. In the 1700's and 1800's, the Arusi-Galla became a prominent force in Abyssinian (Ethiopian) politics. During the nineteenth century, they converted to Islam. Today, they are more apt to speak Amhara and Tigrinya than Oromo, their native tongue.
Here is the Rahawein story (18th century wars):

Gaala marki kooyti
Greed Ma baala gebertiis geeda la ka teeg
Gurbeshey Gaduudow le eraayi Golowka la ku gooyi
Gondolshey geeda haayi wal gubi

The rest of the story is coming next time stay tuned.

Rahawein is warrior nation of Oromo ancestry who split with their family due to faith difference. To this day Rahawein remains devoted Muslim community. Nothing but respect from me. Rahawein, Digil, Garre (Gabra), Barentu and Borana are closely related people. They need to remove the stigma from their history and name by educating the others about their proud warrior race.

Ras Hawdian--------Warrior Gallas once conquered almost the entire Horn.
