First, it is a noble effort to stop FGM or aka female circumcision wherever it occurs. Something needs to be done, and to have meaningful results in Somalia, it is better the Egyptian route is pursued - where the religious establishment has issued a fatwa, banning its practice. It is well-understood in Muslim societies that people are more responsive to religious fatwas, issued by the well-established clerical establishment, than the other forms of campaigns.

Second, it seems there is a new effort to equate male circumcision with FGM or female circumcision as it is known in the societies where it takes place. If the effort is not to circumcise children in such a young age, it is understandable. However, in Islam and in Judaism, male circumcision is a mandatory religious practice. Many studies have also found out tangible health benefits in male circumcision:
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) found that the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks.......

What are the benefits of circumcision?
There is some evidence that circumcision has health benefits, including:

*A decreased risk of urinary tract infections.
*A reduced risk of some sexually transmitted diseases in men.
*Protection against penile cancer and a reduced risk of cervical cancer in female sex partners.
*Prevention of balanitis (inflammation of the glans) and balanoposthitis (inflammation of the glans and foreskin).
*Prevention of phimosis (the inability to retract the foreskin) and paraphimosis (the inability to return the foreskin to its original location).
*Circumcision also makes it easier to keep the end of the penis clean.
Additionally, I don't know about your religious background, LoveandLight, but Somalis are overwhelmingly Muslims, and in Islam, it is mandatory to perform male circumcision. I am sharing here with you some of the hadiths and verses in the Holy Quran ordaining male circumcision:
Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Five are the acts quite akin to fitrah:Circumcision, clipping or shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking or shaving the hair under the armpits and clipping (or shaving) the moustache." (Reported in Bukhari & Muslim)
As-Shawkani said in his book Nayl al-Awtar (1/184):

"What the Prophet (s.A.w.) means by Fitrah is that if these characteristics are followed by a man, he would be described as a man of Fitrah, which Allah (s.w.t.) has gifted his servants with, and encouraged them to follow, so that they attain a high degree of respectability and dignity."

Allah ordered Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to follow the religion of Ibrahim (peace be upon him). When Allah says:

"Then We inspired you: 'Follow the religion of Ibrahim, the upright in Faith'." (Qur'an 16:123)

And part of the religion of Ibrahim (Abraham) is circumcision.

The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said: "The Prophet Ibrahim circumcised himself when he was eighty years old and he circumcised himself with an axe." (Related by Bukhari, Muslim & Ahmad.)
In conclusion, it may be better for the feminist activists to focus on stopping the practice known as female circumcision or lately FGM in the west, and at the same time not to equate it with male circumcision. The opposition that you will face in stopping male circumcision is very huge, and in my view, not doable due to the religious component that ordains its practice and the medical research that supports its benefits.

Dedication

To the Somali People, Who Have Suffered for Far Too Long

I had a feeling you might be a certain user (with a new nickname) who I had sent to my Foes/Ignore List, and who has been following me around from my thread on Male Genital Mutilation. You too have been sent to my Foes List! I Will Respond to This Post to Inform the People. After That, I Shall Not Respond to You Again!

I am a Humanitarian, Researcher and Investigator. I will continue to advocate for the Right (A God Given Right) of all Children to have Genital Integrity (Both Female and Male), and to be protected from Torture and the Risk of Death. People have free will. They should be able to make their own decisions. It is Their Body!

Torture/Genital Mutilation of Children is Not Commanded by Allah and is Not Written in the Holy Quran! Many Muslims Erroneously Believe That Allah Ordered the Genital Mutilation of Children. Many Are Illiterate. The Great Majority Cannot Read or Understand Arabic. And So, They Blindly Follow What is Told to Them.

  • And the Intellectual Karbaashing Begins. Image

How Can Torture Be Beneficial?

Where is the Benefit in Putting the
Child's Life in Danger?!

  • "You Want Me to Hold Down My
Baby Boy's Legs, While You Cut His Pee-Pee?"

"Why Is He Screaming and Crying That Loud?"

"Oh, God..." [ The Parent is About to Faint; What the Gullible HuMan Did Not Know is That the Baby Boy Was Not Given Anesthesia! ]

Let Us Now Use Our Hearts and Intuition to Guide Us. What Would the Human Being's Natural Instinct Be When the Accursed Xalaaleyso or Pedophile/Torturer "doctor" Comes at the Child's Private Parts With a Blade?

I have Never equated Male Torture/Genital Mutilation with Female Torture/Genital Mutilation. If you read my work, you will see that I believe Clitoridectomy of Baby Girls to be the most Horrendous and Painful type of Genital Mutilation.

Do Not Lie! The Barbaric Practice of Torturing/Mutilating Boys is not Mandatory. If it were, Allah would have Ordered it in the Holy Quran. Something Ain't Right!

The Holy Quran

Chapter 15- Stoneland

Verse 9- We Ourself Have Sent Down The Reminder Just As We Are Safeguarding It.

Allah Has Promised to Protect the Holy Quran from Corruption. Can the Same Be Said About the Hadiths?

Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "Five are the acts quite akin to fitrah:Circumcision, clipping or shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking or shaving the hair under the armpits and clipping (or shaving) the moustache." (Reported in Bukhari & Muslim)

Clipping or shaving the pubes, cutting the nails, plucking or shaving the hair under the armpits and clipping (or shaving) the moustache will not cause Near-Death Excruciating Pain or Death in Some Cases! This is what makes me suspicious of this Hadith. The Torture/Mutilation of Boys Cannot be compared to innocuous hygiene practices like shaving hair and clipping nails! Nails and Hair will grow back!

Where Does It Say That This is a Mandatory Part of Being A Muslim? I'm not buying it!

Torture is Torture!

Torture is Torture! It Does Not Matter if the victim is a young girl or a young boy, or if it is a baby girl or a baby boy. All Children Must Be Equally Protected!

Prayer is Mandatory for Muslims, yet many Choose not to pray. The Torture of Boys is Not Mandatory! If some adults want to Mutilate their own body that is their choice. No Person Has the Right to Alter Another Human Being's Body (Without A Valid Medical Reason and With the Informed Consent of the Person. Babies and Young Children Who Can't Give Informed Consent Should Not Be Operated on Unless it is a Life Threatening Emergency or the Child is In Pain and There is No Alternative Therapy That Can Help the Child. Surgery Should Only Be As A Last Resort!). Funny, how one person's beliefs causes Torture and Terrorism on another Human Being (It is Always the Young Children and Defenseless Babies!)

I Strongly Believe That Many Somali People Are Suffering from Mental Health Illnesses Due to the Torture/Mutilation That They Were Forced to Endure By Ignorant Parents! The Human Being is Scarred for Life!

Somali Females Who Have Their Genitals Intact Are Very Lucky.

To the Sisters Who Have Been Spared This Inhumanity:

  • You Have Been Given a Blessing From the Merciful Creator! Pass on Your Good Fortune to Your Boys and Girls.

PLEASE, Protect Your Boys (Especially Babies!).

Most Doctors in the World Do Not Advise Torturing/Mutilating Children! In fact, Many Are Appalled by this Barbaric Ritual! Most of the Males in the World Have Been Spared this Fate.

Would You Trust a Medical Association That Tortured Babies for Over 50 Years (the Torture of Baby Boys Continues to This Day) Maintaining That Babies Do Not Feel Pain!

Refer to my Bioethics In Fetal and Infant Surgery Thread:

Major Surgeries (Open Heart, Abdominal Surgery, Etc.) Were Performed On Infants With No Anesthesia or Pain Relief From the 1940s until 1987 in the US.

LoveandLight is Many Things, But Stupid is Not One of Them!

Let Us Ruminate Upon the Fact that The Majority of the Somali People Have Been Tortured/Mutilated.

What Does This Mean for Our People and Motherland?

Ah, I raised valid points and all you responded is I am someone else who is following you. How do you come to that conclusion? Why don't you deal with the facts, instead of hiding behind, "I am a Humanitarian, Researcher and Investigator." First, I am not that individual. Second, it is better not to be emotional when you made a topic and expect people to discuss it. If you don't want to hear from others with different points of view, don't bring it in public.

Your claim that you're a "Humanitarian, Researcher and Investigator" is bogus. You are running with an NGO whose sole intention is to milk this new phenomenon which has recently started in Europe. As part of the campaign against religion, and particularly against Islam, the campaign against male circumcision was carefully chosen. Despite all of the evidence pointing to its benefits, your Freemasonary bosses - who is using you and many other clueless and godless feminists - want to use children's life as a campaign slogan while their sole intention is to wage war against religion as a whole and Islam in particular.

Your other claim that male circumcision is not in the Qur'an is false too as below verse shows:

The question that can be asked is, when it is right to circumcise boys. In Somalia, boys are circumcised normally at the age of eight. It never takes place when the child is born. It may happen sometimes at the age of 6, but majority of it takes place at the age of 8. If your effort was genuine, you would have focused on sanitation, anesthestia, and professional doctors - which are not available in many of the rural areas in Somalia - when circumcision is taking place. You little NGO would have focused on helping those poor people if your efforts were genuine. But you are not. You want to run with campaign slogans, you want your bosses to hear you, and you want to milk it while you're in the West. Spare us with your crocodile tears, lady. We aint falling for it!

The Dajjal (Anti-Christ) lures Women
The Dajjal will make a stop at a place called Markanat (near Taif, Saudi Arabia). On hearing about his arrival, the women will rush towards him, the men will be forced to tie their mothers, daughters, and sisters fearing they will believe in him and get caught up in Fitna (trial and tribulation). (Ibn Umar/ Musnad Ahmad)
Of course not all women will follow him, especially pious Muslim women will not, but indeed extreme feminists are following him (Dajjal Al-Mesihi). As a Muslim, I worry about your fate, Loveandlight, and I must warn you sister the same way I warn myself, don't get yourself involved in conspiracies that you have no knowledge of. The war against Islam has many faces, and the one you're on is part of it. You're sealing your face by being part of that war. That advice is applicable to you if you're a Muslim. If you're not, stop hiding behind our deen and state clearly that you're not a Muslim.

Many Somali girls have escaped the Fircooni Fraud due to the destruction of our country (much to the chagrin of some parents who are Itching to Terrorize, Torture and Mutilate their daughters!). This is one good thing that came out of that calamity. For the first time in God Knows how many Millennia, there are Somali girls in this World who were not Terrorized, Tortured and Mutilated! Yes, They Are Whole Human Beings. Praise Be To Allah!
