This was the kind of discussion I was looking for, not some Western kids saying Somalis are beautiful cuz we look cadaan with black skin. When did beauty become synonymous with cadaan.

Somali come from the Cushitic peoples. You can only be Somali if you are of Cushitic ancestry.

Also, you don't have to look extremely Caucasian to be Cushitic. There is a certain acceptable spectrum of looks.

I did not bring up Caucasian, it was the OP (Original Poster) who was trying to link being Cushitic with having Caucasoid features. This is bogus as Cushites are native East Africans with a diverse range of native looks.

I firmly believed in ethnic Cushitism prior to taking a DNA ancestry test. Now that I know I do not have the same paternal distant origin as most Horners, 'Cushite' has relevance only in a linguistic sense to me.

Just because you have a minority haplogroup does not mean you aren't racially Horn African. You still cluster with other Horn Africans when all of your chromosomes (1 through 23) are analyzed.

This thread was clearly made as a parody to those that believe that Somalia is this great Cushitic nation that was being brought down by the intermixing of the evil Jareer people.

My point was that Somalis weren't and will never be this pure Cushitic people, that Somalis come in various shapes and sizes. No-one can claim Somaliness above someone else, and I think some people understood this.

I am not disputing that I share an overwhelming amount of genes with other Horners but ancestrally speaking, I do not descend from a common male ancestor with most of them.

We are just of Cushitic origin. The Cushites originally came from North Sudan and are mixture between Ancient Egyptians and the Sudanese locals.

We are not a Bantu mixed race. The Bantu came from Cameroon, West Africa. Their DNA is not found in the vast majority of ethnic Somalis.
