Saaxib, what I think will occur is that Muslims will be severely restricted from practicing their own religion in the near future. There won't be deportations, but the open practicing of Islam would be restricted enough to make life more difficult for your typical religious Muslim

There are many Muslims in America who are Muslim-in-name-only. This goes especially for those Iranians and Indians who may be technically "Muslim" in the sense that they call themselves Muslim and they celebrate Eid, but that's as far as their connection to Islam goes. I don't think the United States or any Western country would deport those people, since they're only nominally Muslim at best. I would guess even people like KTS and Abdi-Johnson are nominally "Muslim" in the sense that they attend Eid prayer and say "Asalamu Alaikum" from time to time....but that's about it. They clearly don't believe in Islam and have no real connection to the Deen. .

But I don't think we would be deported. At least not for the next 10-20 years. We would just have our lives made much more difficult

The problem with Abdi Johnson is that he confuses criticism with outright hatred. Everyone on this forum can acknowledge that the West has some absolutely amazing qualities that are very admirable. Most people on this forum would admit that they much prefer the West over China or Russia. In fact, they'd prefer the West over most civilizations in the past or present, with a few exceptions here and there.

The West's application of the rule of law, government regulations, free markets, personal freedom to practice one's religion, world-class education system, ability to create and invest in capital in a manner that would maximize production and increase the standard of living, etc. etc.

All of these aspects are extremely admirable and worthy of being praised. But as soon as 1 Somali guy on this forum says something negative about US policy, then Abdi Johnson goes ahead and screams, "Leave the country if you don't like it"....but Abdi would NEVER say such a thing to a White American who has some of the SAME objections that your regular Somalinet forum member would say. There are many White Americans who are displeased with some of the actions of their government and they voice their objections. So why can't a Muslim do the same thing?
