LOL@ comparing Sarajevo to any Somali city. Sarajevo and rest of the Balkans have long and rich history of civilisation. Be more realistic.
Somalis have long way to go...laakin they could start of with not building ugly multi-coloured buildings everywhere and start doing some city-planning.

Xamar is ghost town. Bullet ridden, with history of anarchy. Protected by african troops and a corrupt government, Funded by turkey. These developments you see in bosaso are all fumded by its own people, not turkey or africans keeping the peace. It's from the people. Also this isn't a competition we want all of somalia to develope insha allah. You will never get anywhere while you put down others achievement and progress.GIJaamac wrote:Lol @ bosaso. Xamar by far is the most developed somali city and it will among top 10 african cities in a decade iA.

Xamud and OD you forgot about jigjiga. And i agree Bossaso is similar to Xamar in its cosmopolitan nature, rare in the Somali landscape.
Also despite the progress of Boss city i still think within 10 - 20 years Mogadishu and Kismayo (new markets) will be the leading city by far in the nation. Bossaso and Berbera also has potential to boom aswell if they innovate with FDI along with the current leader Djibouti.
The port cities are where the heart of development is in most developing countries and this similar for Somalia too.

Yes town planning is needed however all global south cities need town planning such as india somalia etc
These Diaspora trying to do just that just off the highway - all sold.

Btw liquid - Sarajevo was built by various empires since antiquity. No need to compare, just be hopeful.
AbdiJohnson, Shantytown : A shanty town or squatter area is a settlement of plywood, corrugated metal, sheets of plastic, and cardboard boxes.

Re: Most Developed somali City
I'm a big fan of coastal cities. There is something about the Red Sea that really compliments B-town. City planning on growing cities is very difficult though, it would involve demolishing properties and resettling people. That's what happened to a lot of towns in Brazil actually during the WC, all the favelas were being uprooted.
Btw they should keep everything white-washed. Any colour other than white is just fugly.

Very impressive but Garowe beats it in terms of planning and organization

IMF loans will transform a nation into a slave of the modern hegamony, all for a f-king set of fancy buildings.
