Somalis that don't speak Somali

I remember in my early teenage years.I could'nt string one whole sentence together in af Somali. After one visit back home which lasted 2 years and follow on monthly trips.It's no effort now.

My dad and mom only speak somali or arabic at home. they speak fluent english but they don't allow us to speak it at home. thus how i can speak 4 languages so well (somali, arabic, english and french).Plus my grandparents form both sides don't peak english so i had to learn. SO somalis who can't speak somali are just straight up retarded...learn your damn language. if anything its good to be bilingual...makes you look cultured lol.

Step mom..my mom died when i was young. my step mom raised me. she's somali.

i can speak it very well but reading and writing is hard.just like arabic. the only reading and writing i know fluently is english and french. other wise the rest I'm only fluent in when i speak.
