For me the issue of the death penalty is simple: what if you have the wrong man?

What if you have the right man, but he was suffering from a curable mental illness?

It's tremendously difficult to apologize to the innocent man after you've executed them


Now, I think there are plenty of people who have committed heinous enough crimes to deserve to die. I DO NOT in any way trust the legal system to get it right with anywhere near enough certainty that I think the state should be executing people.


I think it was, said even DNA can be screwed up...... real statistic is that lab screw ups result in an error rate closer to 1%. That ain't good enough, no way, we would have 100's of innocents executed over time, we already have 1000's to 10,000's of innocents rotting in prison as it is.

God is perfect. We humans are flawed. My problem with the death penalty is not that I don't want guilty murders to be executed. I have no sympathy for someone who kills another human being without justification. However, humans are flawed. The justice system is flawed. And invariably there will be many innocent people who will be killed WRONGLY. That is why I am against the death penalty. If you could guarantee me that there was a 0% chance of error when it came to determining whether a person actually did commit the crime, then I would have no problem with the death penalty.

These people are ignoring the irrefutable facts regarding the death penalty.

Furthermore, how are you going to use the weak evidence peddled by Liberals who actually pushed for death penalty delays......which results in murderers being executed 30 years aafter committing their crime. Instead of executing the convicted murderer right away, they decide to drag out the process which costs taxpayers millions of dollars.

And why don't you look at studies showing the deterrance effect of the death penalty in countries like China, Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries?
