Nonsense,
Yemens and somalis have cultural and historical bonds. There were somalis in Aden in the 18th/centuries and a substantial Yemen community in Somalia. Yemen hosts alot of somalis refugees at the moment. Do not listen to propaganda; as always there are both good and bad ppl in society.

You don't wish quagmire on others saaxib.

Errr...no. We share nothing with them. Seeing as almost half of them are shias, we barely share a religion with them as well. This myth perpetuated by arab-lovers about brotherhood and bonds is just that - a myth. The only yemenis who have any connection to Somalis are those in hadramaut, al-mahrah and Aden - and those are the ones who sided with Ethiopia during our catastrophic war with them. I do not care what happens to their country, neither my prayers nor sympathies are with them. If any flee to Somalia, I hope they are shown the same warm hospitality Somali refugees receive across sea.

Lama

The Yemenis regardless of their sect are very tribal people and they intermarry heavily to create tribal alliances. To understand from a Somali perspective how tribal Yemenis are, they are just like us Somalis times 1000. That is the sole reason why Alqaeda in Yemen couldn't crack big time on Yemen. The Zaydis alone compose of 400 different tribes. You are right, Yemen will most likely seperate into South and North Yemen because of the Saudi and Iranian involvements. The North are mostly Shia-Muslims while the South are predominantly Shafici Sunni Muslims.

LH , gaal dil gartiisa si saaxibiyaal

The yemenis and somalis share alot in common. We have had trade; the first somalis outside somalia worked in Aden with the British. When our nation collapsed many somalis fled to yemen (there were thousands of Yemen in Hargeisa, Mogadishu, Berbera, Bosaso and Beledweyne). Most of them assimilated; others kept their culture.

In the diaspora we have substantial somali Yemenis; they are somalis; they are the carriers of somali culture. After the break-up somalis, yes, somalis have been treated badly but there were also some good ppl.

Somalis should open their homes to Yemenis in case they flee. We are very hospital ppl; even though we don't have resources, we have always welcome ppl in need; the bantus, the oromos, and persecuted communities.

Machiavellu, the south is also secular (also communists) and by all accounts the seat of intellectual class

Zaydi Shia are also accepted as part of the Sunni. They don't diss umm Aisha (ra), they also don't diss the rest of the khulafa e rashideen (May Allah be pleased with them). In Yemen, Sunni and Zaydi Shia pray together. The people who diss umm Aisha (ra) and the rest of the khulafa e rashideen (ra) are rafida group. They are a group within the Twelver group. Knowing the difference and facts helps everyone.

With that being said, the current Houthi rebellion was trained and backed by Iran and Hezbollah of Lebanon. There are reports that the West - mainly Americans and British- was in full agreement with the Iranians and Hezbollah to provide this training. There seems to be a secret alliance emerging between the West on one side and and Iran and its proxy groups on the other side.

In either case, the Al-Salool Zionist family of Al-Saud needs to be taught a lesson as well.

Not sure who to support.

BTW, do not listen to Wahabism and its nonsense; The shias are also muslims.

The shia-sunni divide is more political than a religious conflice.

@Lama, define Wahabism for me, sxb? Are you a Muslim?

Fyi, to my understanding, the Wahabis follow the Ahmed Hanbali School of Thought in Sunni Islam.

I think guwop is a young kid who was around with the wrong crowd. One of the adults here may want to talk to him and see if he can straighten him out.

Lamagoodle, you remind me of those uncle tom black guys who love to make excuses for the cadaans and cops. There are good and bad people everywhere. But there are significantly more bad people in places like Yemen than in say, Somalia. In Somalia, we have a lot of problems but innocent refugees from Ethiopia and other african migrants aren't brutalised and raped.

Btw, knowing what the Rafida Shia has done to Sunni Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, I am sure this Iran-led rebellion will be determinant to the well-being of Sunni Muslims in Yemen, Arabian Peninsula, Oman, UAE, Qatar, and Bahrain.

The Sunni Muslim population Iraq have suffered under the worst genocide at the hands of Rafida Shia, led by Iran, and support it received from the West.

The hadith of 70,000 Jews from Isfahan, wearing Persian Shawls, is getting fulfilled. Tough times are ahead for the Sunni Muslims in the Middle East.

May Allah curse the Rafi'da Shia and its backers in the powers that be!

We do share lots in common with south Yemeni ppl. I got relatives that live there with half yemeni half somali wives. Yemeni ppl are cool ppl intaan ka aqaan. Somalis and yemenis have long history. Lotta famous singers were yemeni origins. Famous somali proverb says we are close to yemen than many other countries 'ma cadan baa laga heesayaa'

It was said if your at the northern tip of somali peninsula u can hear yemen/eden from there.

I hope peace n prosperity for the ppl of yemen

Allow dhawr
