Buraanbur is a realist and she knows more about politics than Sahal nacnac.
Btw Siyad Bare was a lion politician. He understood the region more than any Somali politician to this day and that is not to say he made fatal errors. But overall in my book he was a visionary man especially externally but he sucked domestically.
Thanks to him today Djibouti has the chance to be the next Dubai since Barre saw the interest in Eritrea's secession.
But Ethiopia is returning the ball and could end up with Djibouti rather than Eritrea. Political integration is now on the table.

Re: ethiopian population figures are so inflated
If Nigerians are almost 200 million, I don't see how Ethiopia can't be 93 million.
Ethiopia is laandheer
Ethiopia is laandheer
Re: ethiopian population figures are so inflated
The Ethiopia population is huge but the census won't be accurate, a proper census in Ethiopia will reveal that Muslims make the majority of the countries population something the minority orthodox government isn't willing to accept. Meles Zenawi saw the muslim population figures and decided to diminish these numbers before the census was published.
Re: ethiopian population figures are so inflated
As usual you vomited on yourself when you being challenged with rational argument. Before you act expert on Ethiopia's census please do a head count of its troops in your home town and get back to us. If you can't do that it only means a man that doesn't know the Ethiopian statistics his Beledweyne should not present himself as an expert of a distant land.sahal80 wrote: fuck off and stop shitting my thrad xabashi condom.

Ethiopia's massive population is heavily concentrated in rural areas and the majority of them are in Shoa, Sidamo, Gurage, Welloga, Jimma, Enderta, Gojjam and southern Wollo. The average density in these regions is above 150 people per KM^2.
In places such as Hawassa, Welkite, Gedio density is above 250 per KM^2 while Addis Ababa is above 500 people per KM^2.
Unlike Somalia where single nomadic family lives in a home-sted on its own and the most consist of 3 families----Ethiopia's rural consists far higher than that. A farming town can host over several thousands of families and are in close proximity with others.
Of course my argument is not that Ethiopia's population is an accurate one. If you studied statistics you know the rule of 1 percent of plus or minus always applies after all its an estimate. Even if we remove 10 million from the Ethiopian population, it is still the undisputed Africa's second most populous nation. With its steep history, it deserves such title. The Nigerians sure out breed the Ethiopians and that's because a man can have up to 90+ wives.
Other issues you should take into consideration include: infant mortality rate, life expectancy and birth rate.
Somalia's mortality rate has been averaging 100 per a 1000 while Ethiopia has been 70 per 1000 in the last decade. That means it was adding 30 more kids than Somalia per 1000 births. You do the maths mate. Consider the life expectancy and war death too.
If these trends continue in the next half century, I can assure you that there will be more Somalis in Somali Region (Western Somalia) than mainland Somali Republic. Two decades ago Somalis in the Kilil did not even number 2 million but today they are close to 6 million. Don't let emotions cloud your views dude. I'm not against you I put things into perspective. Real talk.
Re: ethiopian population figures are so inflated
half of the ethiopian map is somali plus these lost somalis aka gurgura of dire dawa. Its the reason why cabdullahi sacdi was sticking the somsli capital to be dire dawa when tigray were newEEGA9 wrote:The Ethiopia population is huge but the census won't be accurate, a proper census in Ethiopia will reveal that Muslims make the majority of the countries population something the minority orthodox government isn't willing to accept. The problem was somalia collapsing at the same time but if the situation was different dire dawe would have been annexed.

Onething that always struck me was, how come there aren't as many Ethiopians in abroad as there are Somalis? Almost everywhere you go, wether it be Africa, Australia, Arabaha, North America or Europe, you would see Somalis before you see Ethiopians.
And this is a country with 50 million + inhabitants. Do they even get out much or travel?

Modern industrial agriculture has low population density, but traditional agriculture needs a lot of manpower, and most of Ethiopia is pre-industrial agriculture, subsistence farmers and the like, it's why Ethiopia is so poor.sahal80 wrote:shouldnt the rural area have low density anyways? Besides they are agricultural people not like the somali nomads who r on the moveJames Dahl wrote:Ethiopia is mostly rural farmers, it's 84% rural, one of the least urbanized countries in the world. I think the 93 million figure is probably about right
Yaa ustad in africa we lie too much
