We are Arabs and will remain Arabs.Arab is no longer a real ethnicity but a pan ethnicity and it is in the interest of the Somali people to become Arabs.

Arabs are overwhelmingly Muslims, and that is the bond between us.

We are not Arab and should avoid becoming Arab. Sacrificing the beautiful culture and language that Allah has made for us would be a sin. I don't want to be another fake Arab country like Egypt. I want to speak the tongue and know the culture of my ancestors.

Arab does not equal Islam but I can admit that Somali atheist trolls are obsessed with hating them for some reason. Don't let that influence you though. It is okay to reject Arab identity and it is okay to call out Arab countries for abusing Somalia (which Saudis often do).

We have cultural/business/geopolitical ties with the Middle East for many centuries though ethnically we're not of the same. Both the Somali language and the Arabic language are part of the Afro-Asiatic branch.

I am Somali Muslim. there are millions of Muslims around the world who don't claim of being Arabs. Why can't we be the same? FYI, all Arabs are not Muslim.
