Sophisticate sister, you're very articulate in your other topics, but for some reason you seem to have issues with Arabs. I can't pinpoint your distaste towards Arabs, but would like to question if you're a Muslim. Please confirm your religious beliefs for us? Thanks in advance!
To get back to your charge that "Anyone that boosts Arab people because of the religion probably has little understanding of it. It's utterly pathetic, they might as well just ditch the Somali card and call themselves Sudanese. I can't stand cultural beggars." I think you're missing the point here. We're not calling ourselves Arabs. We're Somalis; however, as Muslims, we see Arabs as our brothers and sisters in faith, since overwhelming majority of Arabs are fellow Muslims. If you're a Muslim, please explain to us what makes that pathetic? We have our prayers for other Muslims who happen to be non-Arabs as well. We don't hold Arabs in separate status as to other non-Arab Muslims. To us, they are all the same. I hope my point makes sense to you!
Let me share with you this hadith:
An-Nu’man ibn Basheer reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The example of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.”
Source: Sahih Bukhari 5665, Sahih Muslim 2586
After you review that hadith, please explain to us how loving Arab Muslims for the sake of Islam is "pathetic" in your own language?
That being said, we know hate towards Arabs is a code-word for anti-Islam bigotry for the new Somali gaalos. I am hoping and praying you're not in that league
Fyi, the nation of Sudan - which you're somehow taking shots as if they lost who they are - have given tens of thousands of Somalis in free scholarships during the Somali civil war. Their President Omar Al-Bashir has made an official policy for Sudan to help the Somalis when it comes to education and when it comes settling Sudan during the 25-year old retarded and backward civil war in Somalia. He did that because, as he said, Somalia is his second home - a fellow Muslim and African nation. Additionally, Baathists-led Syria had an official policy of never returning a Somali mother with children. If she and her children reach Syria, they came to their second home. The children were freely educated, and for those Somalis who did not have the means to support themselves, Syrian state had taken care of them. It was one of the few nations in the Muslim world where a Somali could attend from elementary to university for free, and where the Syrian state would help them find a job within Syria. Of course, all of that is destroyed today since Syrian is in ruins.
I gave you those examples since you seem to be young who grew up in the diaspora and may lack many contexts here. O
k now, I need your confirmation of your religious background and if you're a practicing Muslim.
