Well, the simple answer to that question, Buraanbur, is the fact that the major issue at play, and the reason she was exposed, is the fact that she has fabricated NINE separate hate crimes against herself. The police have just concluded the most recent "hate mail" that was sent to her was, in fact, not mailed and could only have been placed in her P.O. Box by someone with a key.

The complicated answer depends on whether or not you believe in the concept of transgender. There is simply no such thing is trans-race. Race is a construct whereas gender is biological. Black skin does not make me a certain way, it is just melanin.

Twitter activists are trying to argue that the difference is that gender is a social construct, but so is race. :pac:

But the media isn't focusing on her alleged crimes, they're focusing on her race. Both race and gender are social constructs and both have a biological basis. I don't see the difference. Can you explain how gender makes you a certain way but race doesn't? :wtf:

If she was supporting minority rights, why do people have issues with her?

What if she did a DNA test and find out that she has more black DNA than anyone else?

They need to give the poor woman a break. She is just trying to make a living!

Like I said, you kind of have to believe in trans-sexuality for it to make sense. So, if your gender is female you feel, well, like a woman. But if your "chosen" race is "black," you don't need sunscreen and age well.

But what does it mean to 'feel' like a woman? :? Some trans women have been known to claim they menstruate even though they don't have a uterus. What they mean by experiencing menstruation is that they get moody once a month due to the hormones they take. I find all of this talk about 'feeling' like a woman to have sexist undertones imho. Plus, there's no way to measure/quantify emotions so who's to say that Rachel doesn't feel black?

I honestly don't care for Caitylnn or Rachel, it's just that I don't see the difference between the two and find it unfair to give one a pass and claim the other is a liar or mentally ill.

Well, there are trans-men as well so there's no reason to be offended. It's just that trans-women get all the attention (negative or positive) because it threatens the "natural" order; another example is gay men get all the hate and lesbians are treated as benign.

Gender is fluid, as is sexuality. That is known. Until we see a documented phenomenon of people believing themselves to be another race, you have to look at each instance on a case by case basis.

Oh, come on. Most of the emotions that are associated with the male gender are desirable. Saying you 'feel' like a woman is sexist.

What this has revealed is the problem with sociology. There is no way to measure the fluidity of gender or sexuality so, try as you may, you cannot argue against race also being fluid. This all comes down to 'feelings', which are not measurable which is why gender fluidity and sexual fluidity have yet to be proven with concrete evidence. Human emotions are complex; who's to say Rachel doesn't actually feel black? Why are one persons feelings more valid than anothers? Either Caitylnn and Rachel are both mentally ill or we as a society need to embrace the concept of racial dysphoria. The only difference is that Bruce's transition to Caitylnn fits a certain agenda that's being pushed. They opened the floodgates and there's no going back. :pac:

I wanna see Sister Raquel on the cover of Essence magazine. Her 'coming out' story would be an interesting read. :russ:

No, saying male attributes are more desirable than female attributes is sexist. It is damn near the textbook definition of sexism.

The fluidity of gender and sexuality is as evident as the existence of tomboys and metrosexuals and the popularity of transsexual porn among heterosexual men (https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/ev ... ual-desire)

I guess the reason why I can dismiss Rachel as "most likely crazy" is because when she was confronted with the facts of her parentage, of the fact that she was indeed a white woman through and through, she could not accept that fact. She created an alternate reality where her father was a black man and her adoptive brother was her son. A transwoman or transman is aware of and will admit their cisgender if confronted, there is no cognitive dissonance.

Why would her parents start shaming their daughter? No one knows, but one thing is clear from other people who are attacking her: They are right-wingers. This woman has participated and organized many civil rights protests, and it seems some people resent that.

In terms of ethnicity, it's been reported she has adopted young black kids and raised them well. Therefore, her commitment to racial equality in America and her willingness to raise young black kids qualify her to be a black person.

Selective reading much? I never said that male attributes were more desirable than female attributes. I said the emotions associated with the male gender, or the terms used to describe men, were more positive/desirable. Can you even quantify what it means to 'feel' like a woman? Have certain emotions been identified and does a threshold need to be met in order to qualify these feelings as valid or is this just some abstract concept? :|

I don't think you understand the concepts of sexual fluidity and gender fluidity. The claims is that constructs such as gender and sexuality are flexible and can change over time depending on an individuals immediate environment. Simply put, it's a choice. The question then becomes, are people born gay or is sexuality fluid? Plus, how can a choice have a genetic basis?

Gender is tied to sex at birth, but sociologists want to distinguish between sex and gender by claiming that one can change their gender. You presented heterosexual males seeking out transsexual porn as 'evidence' of sexual fluidity but psychologists would identify such individuals as straight-identifying, not heterosexual. Furthermore, you tried to use tomboys and metrosexuals as evidence of gender fluidity. Dressing less feminine and participating in activities that are deemed to be 'masculine' ≠ feeling like a man or wanting to be a man. People who identify as gender fluid actually find it offensive to be confused with tomboys and metrosexuals.

The fact that even you're confused by all these labels just goes to prove that the social sciences are mostly a joke. It's all about disposition, none of which can be directly observed, and concepts and theories which are sometimes in opposition. If sociologists want to distinguish between gender and sex then why can't we also distinguish between race and ancestry? These broad racial categories are social constructs, but ancestry/genetics is not. Sister Rachel is transracial. She doesn't identify as African-American, she identifies as black.
Asked in an interview with Sky News if she identified as African American, Dolezal said she did not like the term.

“I prefer black,” she said. “If I was asked I would say, yes, I would definitely consider myself to be black.”
http://www.theguardian.com/world/2015/j ... washington

She went to a black university (Howard), married a black man, has black adopted children, is a Professor of Black Studies and works as the local leader of a pro-black organization. You can't call her crazy or question her disposition because her self-identification is unappealing to you. Racial dysphoria is real. It's about as real as gender dysphoria. :pac: You can't see past your racial privilege to acknowledge that Rachel Dolezal is a white woman who was born into the wrong race. She identifies with the black community and feels black. Her feelings are as valid as Caitylnn Jenners. Next week we will hear about species dysphoria and some individual who identifies as a canine and feels they should have been born a dog. Welcome to 2015. :stylin:

There has been a family feud, the parents adopted 3 African American children, raised all their kids in a multi-racial area, so their adopted kids won't experience racism raising them in a segregated whites only area and two of them are still with the parents, but the third one lives with this sister that she claimed was her own son. She accuses her parents of racism because they couldn't fathom her claims of being an African American by birth. She has strongly bonded with her little adopted brother from a young age and considered herself an African American. If she strongly feels to be a black person and has no malice or, has no evil intent, but to help and improve the lives of others, she should be left alone with her adopted race. Bruce Jenner became a female and everyone is praising him, why can't she be who she wants to be?

When and where did I attack you? I attacked sociology. :? If you read the article I posted you would see that Rachel doesn't deny her biological parents. She says they're not on good terms ( probably due to their bigoted, transphobic, opinions) and she refuses to acknowledge their opinions on her racial identification. She did not deny her ancestry, she said she identifies as Black. Caitylnn Jenner also lives in an alternate reality where she is now a lesbian mother of 6. Why is Caitylnns new reality (some would call it a delusion) valid but Rachels isn't? As a black man, you find it offensive for a white woman to claim she's actually black but as a biological woman, I am expected to accept Bruce Jenner's transformation into a legal woman without question. You need to check your privilege my friend.
