This woman said that for real? She's supposed to be a PR ambassador for Muslim Americans? :mindblown:

Sounds harsh when the quote is taken completely Out of Context.

"A sign of privilege" kulaha

Why don't you just admit that you are @Payitforward87? Don't be introducing these foreign terms into the Somali lexicon.
The excuses they are making is comical....they can't say congratulations and move on. Homeless people start non-profits ...victims starts nonprofits. All you need to start a nonprofit is time, passion and cause you believe in and last thing you need is funds which you can get from fundraising, government grants or corporate sponsors.

All they need to say is congratulations and move on.... they dismiss how hard she worked and her accomplishments. One of the posts attributed her success to African Americans.

Bro I find it disturbing that this SaciidAyanleh character is attempting to belittle the achievements of this young girl.

He wants to whine about "privilege" and he wants to create in his own mind a system of hierarchy in the Somali community, where there exists those who are "privileged" and those who are not.

This degenerate character doesn't seem to understand that Somali society does not have these foreign concepts in our lexicon. We don't understand it. He wants to introduce Liberal University sociology terms into the equation, thereby creating a fictional narrative in his own mind.

I'm convinced that this character dislikes Somali people and dislikes the Somali spirit. How else can you explain his strange behavior?

Which somalis do you knoe that have two highly succesful and educated parents. I know many with educated fathers but not many with both. She is exceptional and I don't want to take anything away from her achievement but most somalis hardly have such a privileged family.

I have both parents that are educated, many of my parents friends and relatives are educated. Big deal. This is not the first we've heard of Somalis accepted into Ivy Leagues. However, she was accepted into all 8 and that's not common place.

And PrInce is right, I have heard of highly successful Somalis in the US, but that does not correlate with the success of their children. There has to be an inner drive and tenacity. In fact, her achievements are even more commendable because she has a will to succeed that surpasses that of her peers (which could be less motivated/complacent).

Still way too harsh, she's in her feelings. The devil for real? And she has the nerve to sit next to Obama whom she probably praises.

Americans cherish their first amendment right the freedom of speech. She has every right to say that and it's protected and encouraged in western society. What does Obama have Ebola, Cooties? Why wouldn't she sit next to him. Her issue is with Benjamin Netanyahu not Barack Hussein Obama.

Yeah, freedom of speech is a right. She is also in a position at a PR organization for a minority group with a terrible, albeit unfair, image.

Obama is one of the greatest enemies of Muslims in the world today. She's a hypocrite, as well.

Am talking about highly educated parents with masters and phd and flurishing career that even cadaan man admires, not somali standard educated as a translator or a teacher assistant even though that is an achievement. No offence though.

Fyi cadaans are easily impressed they admire the local massai arrow shaving skills let alone a teacher!

And I wasn't talking about being a teacher or tanslator.
