Ismailiya, Alawites and Druze are just cults. Brother explain this to me, what about Sufism? Learning about them, like praying to a "saint", praying at the burial sites of deceased "saints", what do you make of it? Many northerners practice this, I hope our deceased forefathers are forgiven for their ignorance about Islam. I think Sufism more of a cult, and put in the category of Aga Khan et al.
Thanks bro. Yes, Houthis are part of Zaydi Shia. Their movement is political though. Historically, Yemen was always ruled by Zaydi Shia until 1962. There are different statistics, but I see some that state they are 35% of Yemen's population. Zaydis also live in India and Tanzania. The teachings of Zaydi Shia has been documented to be very closer to Hanafi School of Thought in Sunni Islam.
As for Sufism, first, Islam was spread in the Somali peninsula by Sufis. Their work for Islam has been magnificent in carrying the da'wah. However, praying to a "saint" or someone in a grave is a major shirk. You only pray to Allah. We need to understand praying is an act of worship, and and it is not permissible to do any act of worship to anyone other than Allaah. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning):
“Worship Allaah and join none with Him (in worship)”
(Noble Quran al-Nisa’ 4:36)
There is good discussion of this topic in this link,

As for Sufis being a cult, no, I would not put them in that category. Suufi Muslims - who are also Sunnis - are our brothers and sisters in faith. There are some ibadah issues caused by lack of knowledge in the deen which they commit, but we can find faults in all groups. The consensus among Islamic scholars is, leave any theological questions to the Islamic scholars, and do your best to learn the deen. Reach out to your brother and sister and inform them about the deen when you see them committing any act that is not permitted in Islam. Once you do that, you did your best. Afterwards, it is up to him (or her) and his creator.
As for our fathers, they did what they could, and under circumstances, they did well since they carried Islam and thought their offsprings (us) about this beautiful faith. Whatever mistakes that they have done, it was, of course, due to lack of knowledge, but their intentions were good as they have carried the message to their offsprings. This is how we're Muslims today. It is our responsibility though to learn the deen further, stop any shirk or bad deeds that we have been committing, and carry the message to our offsprings and to other non-Muslims who we want to join Islam.
Btw, I aint sheikh. I am doing my best to learn the deen now. If I made a mistake about my comments there, it is only an honest mistake and I ask Allah to forgive me. However, we need to understand this generation of ours will not have an excuse of not learning this deen. We have so much information in the web, lectures available in many sites, and Islamic centers in every city in the West. We need to spend our valuable time on increasing our knowledge in Islam.
Take care bro.
