I'm pretty sure every Somali (including myself) in this country has lost someone close to them to gun violence, it's terrible wallahi. I think it's counterproductive to point fingers and say this country's Somali community is bad and ours isn't, when in reality each community has its own strengths and struggles. I think it's best if Somalis leave the West altogether and try to help fix up back home. I know back home is far from perfect, but the things I've been exposed to here is something I would never want my future kids to see.

Speaking out of my 'futo' you said?

Shu faidat hal su2aal when you've said you closed the deal? Yes you can find nice rural areas with lakes, rivers, woodland, sheep etc & the good thing is you're almost always close to a major city or town[frequent trains, short car journeys etc] so you can nip out to town, get all your neccesities and then cocoon yourself in your little cottage. Even then hyper i wouldn't advice you to leave Qatar for the U.K. laysh ma trou7 Malaysia? :)

Lol took you long enough to find that post. Yes there is a gang problem among Somali youth, and there have been cases where innocent people have had their lives taken due to mistaken identity or being in the wrong place at wrong time. However that's not enough to persuade people to write off an entire country, especially when you haven't ever been to that country. What you won't hear on the news or SNet is that the vast majority of Somalis here have normal lives. Hyper is just as likely to be killed by Somali gangs in Canada as you getting shanked in UK for being in the wrong postcode. The possibility is there, but its not enough to make someone reconsider their decisions.

Somalia is the place for me insha'llah.....with a bolthole in the gulf when the privation becomes too much to bare. :)
PS I wouldn't mind working in Saudi. The oil industry is expanding like crazy.

Gulf countries will go broke in a generation, back to being piss poor bedouin wastelands. Hyper is making the right move by getting out of there before their fake wealth disappears.
