Shaheen, It has also irritated me. But this is an issue that needs to be discussed.

I am sick and tired of the gender mainstreaming of somalis and how doing gender ala culturalism has caused the suffering of our sisters, mothers, daughters.

My world is not one based on utopia. It is easily accomplishable. I want equal treatment for both men and women. In my world, people would not tilt the basic tenents of islam to fit into culture.

I think my world is the same as that of any progressive human being.

What is your world? Some kind of religious hegemony on the ability of women to function in society????
